Hi Sarah,
Welcome to us lot on the Community site.
Please don't feel worried. You know we have all 'been there' - our circumstances may differ but the one thing we have in common is that all of us want to go on holiday. So No, don't sit at home moping - go on holiday and have a great time.
You will make new friends of all different ages and this is never a problem. Your tour manager will take care of you and make sure you are included in everything and you will be safe.
If you are not great with flying, I am sure there are ways round it - i.e. making contact through the Community site prior to your holiday as Mick suggests so you will have someone to travel with specifically.
Or there are coach and Eurostar holidays to Europe as well as short-haul trips. You can gradually work your way up to long-haul if you want to. It really is Your choice.
There must be somewhere you have always wanted to go. Well now you can. So go for it - I know you will be glad you did and will never look back. There are some fantastic places out there for you to see.
Also, all this holidaying is very addictive. The more you see, the more you want to see.
Have a great holiday (let us know what you choose) You are worth it!!
Be happy,
Best wishes,
Lesley
PS: throw the Valium in the bin - you don't need it !
