Hi H, welcome to the forum :)
I went to Bruges in 2008 with Travelsphere (JY's sister company). We stayed in Ghent but had a day in Bruges. Bruges and Ghent are both beautiful old places. I'd certainly recommend a visit if you haven't been before. One advantage of the Bruges trip is that after getting off the ferry it doesn't take long to get there.
