I am going on the invitation to India holiday in February. What type of adapter will I need? I don't really want to take a multi one as I find them very fiddly.

Hi there,

Thanks for your message.

Plug Types: India uses Type C, D, and M.

Most Common: Type D is the most prevalent, featuring three large round pins in a triangular pattern.

Hope this helps and if you have any other questions let us know! Have a great trip.

Best wishes,

Lorraine

Thanks for your prompt reply. I was wondering about whether it was 2 or 3 prong. Just one more thing, I'm going at the beginning of February- are there mosquitoes around then?

Hi there,

Three prong is the most common plug, but a universal adaptor might be a good investment to cover all bases.

In Northern areas while the population of mosquitoes is smaller in cooler months such as February, it's not zero risk, but it might be worth talking to your pharmacist or GP and they can provide more accurate health advice.

Best wishes,

Lorraine

Thanks Lorraine, you've been very helpful. There's snow on the ground here so a bit of Indian heat will be very welcome, with or without mosquitoes!!

I took a type D adaptor and used it in all of the hotels.

I went in March and was bitten a couple of times despite using DEET so I'd take some with you even in February just in case.

I had a wonderful time and I'm sure you will too, it's definitely one of those "experience of a lifetime" tours.

Happy travels
