Hi All

I'm not a fan of seat rotation, but think it is unavoidable as some travellers are so selfish. Like Bob, I prefer to sit on my own and admire the view or fall asleep! This is not always possible when the group is large, the coach is full and some travellers are not willing to share their double seats. And as for the unique number thing at dinner oh how I detest it. I've sat with people where it's a one way conversation as clearly you don't have anything in common with them. JY please don't follow suit!!!!

Regards

Sylvia

With JY numbers ever increasing the luxury of having a seat to oneself will soon be a rarity.

Like Bob I too like to sit on my own and enjoy the scenery or close my eyes even though I am a very social creature. I too can't travel at the back of the coach, but I make sure that I don't hog the front seats all the time. When I was on the Kerala trip, the TM did seat rotation and one day whilst travelling on a 'bendy' road and sitting towards the back of the coach meant I was physically sick. Not feeling well ruins the day. TM's thinking was people know about travel sickness and should make sure they have the required medication, and though to a certain extent I agree, medication does not always work. It there is no air on the coach, then even the medication is not going to work for me! Seat rotation is a subject for which there is no solution. If every one behaved like an adult and made sure they moved around, allowing for those who can't go right at the back of the coach, then TMs would not have to do seat rotation. I do think TMs have a tough job trying to please everyone.

Well said, Jaya!  Although I do think it's funny that the majority of posts on this thread are to do with seat/meal rotation, rather than the tour in question, where neither was an issue!

Vickie, there has been no response from JY to my request, some posts up, for feedback as to whether the holiday creators are planning on offering further excursions on this tour, to fill in the free time.  There really is very little to do in Sao Miguel, unless people book tours themselves with local companies (such as the Big Truck), which surely defeats the purpose of being on an escorted tour?!!  One full day and three half days free is too much when there is little to do on the doorstep....

All the best,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Yep, we're adding a couple of excursions to the 2019 trips. We're still finalising the details so please stay tuned!

Thanks,

Vickie

Hi Vickie,

Thanks for the quick reply and that is great news!  It will only add to this tour and make it truly outstanding!

I firmly believe that, even on resort based "leisurely touring" holidays, there needs to be an excursion offered every day, whether it be optional or included, or else for the TM to have a list of easily-doable suggestions for customers.  I'm sure most of us don't want to have to source these for ourselves when we are away.

All the best,

Bob

Thanks Vickie - and the powers that be at JY know that I will!  Hopefully it is all seen as constructive criticism - like so many of your customers, my holidays are VERY important to me and I really want to have the best possible experience of the destination on every holiday, as it is unlikely that I will ever be visiting those destinations again.

Best wishes,

Bob
