Returned from this trip on Thursday. It was my first Just You holiday and my first experience of an organised walking holiday so there was a lot of trepidation as well as anticipation.

Needn't have worried since it was well organised and very enjoyable. The quite large group was superbly herded by our fantastic shepherd, Min, so by the end of the first day's hard walk we were all getting on well. I have loved the Dales since first visiting over 60 years ago - very pleased to still be capable of walking in this beautiful countryside.

I will certainly be a continuing traveller with Just You.

Hi Alan, many thanks for posting a review of the Yorkshire Dales walking tour.  Great to hear that you enjoyed it.  This is something I would like to do, when time permits, so good to hear its recommended.

Thank you Alan for your review. This is one I am considering for next year. Can you tell me how strenuous the walks are?

Angie.

Hi Alan

What was the weather like and were the walks strenuous ? I have never been to the Dales and would like to go one day.

My reply from several days ago has not appeared - I'm presuming I did something wrong, which isn't unusual!

We had good walking weather (30 May - 1 June) - much better than it was at home in Herts!!

The group ranged from mid-forties to 80+ and we all managed to complete all of the walks, mostly without taking the shorter options where available. Some of us (me included) had reservations about the longest walk on the third day but everyone did it -- and none of us took the shorter option when we reached decision time!

As one of those near the upper end of the age range, I was pleased to have my basic fitness confirmed in this way - great sense of achievement! Now for new challenges!!! AlanG

Hello John,

I suggest before June that you go on 8 mile walks with a rambling group as I wished I had! I was exhausted each day. Did not make the final day as an old knee injury played up. Left Dads' walking poles behind as well- not good.

However- it was brilliant, hotel was amazing, Stainforth Falls beautiful, Haworth and Mins' short precis of Wuthering Heights told us all we needed to know.
