I have done both the Spirit of India and Kerala tours and did not encounter a squat toilet in any of the comfort stops.!!!

Hi,

I too have done both Spirit of India and Kerala. I'm just reading through my diary of the first trip - there was one long bus ride and we were not going to stop for a couple of hours, so I went behind a wall - half the bus came with me! So be prepared for squatting! On the whole, the guides will always try and find Western loos where possible and you should be OK.

Enjoy!

Cheers,

Hils

I and others had to go behind bushes on Kenya Safari...for me when you have to go you have to go.

I was on the Spirit of India tour last February.

When travelling by coach the "comfort stops" were mostly squat toilets with one or more UK style - if I remember correctly all were in separate cubicles with doors - unlike Tibet   :s

In Ranthambore National Park - the tiger reserve - we did have a comfort stop but the facilities were being renovated - so it was girls to the left and boys to the right - never thought i would be having a pee out in the open in tiger country

Usual reminder about always having tissues and hand wipes/sanitisers applies.

I loved this holiday - I also did the Amritsar add on - the sights and the people will stay in my memory for ever. I hope you have a wonderful time.
