Hi, We've been informed that due to a soccer tournament, there are no hotels available in Kamloops, and we are being bussed to Sun Peaks (56 km away / 50 min drive) when we get off the Rocky Mountaineer Train in the evening (we then have to be back in Kamloops and on the train by 7.30am the next morning - so it's going to be an extremely early start).  Rocky Mountaineer Co. book the hotels (they have a contract for four tours a year with Just You - so shame on them) - have they yet let you know which two hotels are being used for the Gold Leaf and the Silver Leaf travellers (who stay in different hotels).  And are Rocky Mountaineer Co. going to include our dinner that evening for the inconvenience (and tiredness!) they are causing?   I've spoken to your helpful staff on the telephone, but at that time they didn't have the information.

Also, as regards our various tours to Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper and Vancouver, please would you let me know how much time is spent on the coach and how much time we have for walking around/exploring?  I've tried to find out what the various travelling times are to these places, but obviously you will know far better than my attempts.  This will also help me gauge clothing and footwear.  I do hope there's plenty of time off the coach as I spend all day in the office sitting at my desk!

With thanks in advance.

Good Afternoon Jacqueline,

I have spoken to the manager of this tour and they have advised this;

Yes, this is correct that this group will be staying in Sun Peaks and not Kamloops. Rocky Mountaineer will not be providing dinner for the group that evening and we appreciate that it will be an early start for the group the following morning but this is something that is out of our control.

For any groups that are travelling on the Rocky Mountaineer we do not advise customers prior to departure of the hotels that they will be staying in – accommodation will be confirmed to customers in resort as their paperwork advises. The TM will advise them of the hotels.
