I am booked on this trip on 23 February 2017. Can you let me know the name of the Tour Manager yet? Also, how many are booked on this trip? Has the earthquake that hit Myanmar on 24th August 2016 meant that there have had to be changes to the itinerary?

Thank you.

Good Afternoon,

I'm afraid a tour manager has not yet been allocated to this tour as it is sill early days.

There are 13 travellers currently booked on this tour.

In regards to the earthquake in Myanmar, it has not affected our tour at all. In fact we have just had travellers return from Burma not too long ago.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi XtineB

I arrived back in the UK this morning from the trip that left 31st Oct (did the add-on).   No earthquake effects.  Burma was terrific.

Hi Katy, glad  you had a good time. I'm off to Burma in February. Can you tell me  if mobile phone  coverage  and wifi were available?

Hi Katy,

I'm delighted you had a great time - would you write even a short review?  Looking forward to February!  I will be applying for my eVisa in a couple of weeks....

All the best,

Bob

Hi Bob, will put up a short review in next hour or so.  Arrived back at Heathrow at 5.30 am yesterday, still recovering.  But I loved Burma.

Hi Jonah, yes agree Burma is terrific.

Hi Sarah, wifi and mobile a bit patchy, will get out the details of the hotels to remind myself exactly and write up in a short review.

I am on the 23 February trip. Please could you let me know how we need to pay for extras on the boat. I gather from Pandaw.com that we will need to pay in US$ not kyat, and that credit cards (and presumably also debit cards) are not accepted. Is that still right? And do the $ notes need to be in pristine condition, as suggested elsewhere on this forum?

I am trying to work out how much I need to take as cash, given that all the food on the boat & most of the drinks are already included in the price, but not food for Yangon (except breakfast).

I am also wondering about mobile phone access on the boat as EE phones (on android) don't seem to work in Myanmar. Do you have feedback from the last river cruise on the Irrawaddy about phones or wifi?

Thanks.

Christine

To Moderator,

Could you  please reply to Christine if possible  ref. the paying policy on the boat ie. cards, dollars or kyat. I am  also on the trip on 23rd Feb. and time is running short to plan. Looking forward to it immensely though.

Thanks,

RayT

Good Afternoon Christine,

From looking at the tour information, Sterling isn’t easy to exchange in Myanmar and therefore you should try to exchange your pounds into dollars before you leave the UK. Dollars must be in pristine condition (no tears/ stains). Further to speaking with our product team I understand this is applicable throughout Burma and not just on board the ship.

Currency on-board

Credit card machines are available on board all ships. Cash payment is preferred however, the signal on the river is poor. The pursers deal in USD and Kyat, but if you prefer to pay in different currency they can accommodate and accept other currencies using the exchange rate they have on board (change will need to be in USD or Kyat).

I’ve had a look through the information we have and can’t see anything to suggest there is Wi-Fi on board the ship.

I hope this helps.

Kind Regards,

Mildred
