Vouchers after a holiday to encourage us to book another one would be good.

Also, a few prize draws with maybe flight upgrades and / or vouchers as prizes would be fun. I think that short expiry dates on vouchers and flight upgrades would be disappointing, though.

It would also be nice to see greater discounts on optional excursions if you book them all or a combination of some sort. Currently, sometimes you get 5% discount, sometimes you get nothing.

I agree to some extent with Sim1. The prices do seem to be going up and up every year, and there's less and less included. I can often have two holidays for the price of one with JY. Since effectively having a pay cut this year, I've had to start comparing different companies to get the best value for me. I'm now using JY as a last resort when booking a holiday, which is a shame as I've had 8 holidays up to now, and I've another booked for October. Most holidays aren't during peak season, when most of the hotels would be nearly empty anyway, so I don't understand why they're twice the price of normal holidays.

JY definately should be offering some sort of early booking discount, most other companies do. Even going back to offering a money off voucher, like they used to do, would be a start.

I remember the vouchers we used to get, but JY was owned by a different company then. I have done 11 or maybe 12 holidays and enjoyed them all, but like others on the forum I find the prices are climbing rapidly and instead of two or even three a year it will be maybe one. There are so many singles trying to travel but every where you look the prices are huge. Ever booked a cruise as a single!!. If a company could come out with an answer they would make a fortune. :thumbup:

There is always a plan 'B'. Over the past 3 years I have booked JY trips for Route 66, National Parks and New England but i have always booked through a travel agent namely Avios Air Miles. You don't get a discount, but, you get 10 miles for every pound spent. So if you book a holiday that costs 2.5K to 3K you get between 25000 and 30000 air miles. This year, using the miles I was awarded i have had two 'free' holidays to Istanbul and Malaga flying with BA. Their return flights to Europe are 15000 miles so if you are thinking of booking a long haul trip with JY and want something back, use the Avios Air Miles.

I do agree JY prices are going up. It is often cheaper to book with other companies , including travelsphere , and pay a single supplement.

Price is not my only consideration though. Quite honestly if paying £2000 + then a discount of £100 isn't going to make me book something !

I have also booked several JY holidays through Avios to collect points (miles). Gulliver, they give you a discount if you ask! Typically £40 for a European holiday, so I suspect long haul will be a good bit more. In fact JY are 'funding' my city break to Berlin later this week! I would add that I haven't booked a JY holiday this year as, like others, I find the prices getting too much with less included. Additional connecting flights from Scotland and the inevitable airport hotels have put JY European holidays beyond my budget.
