Hi Julia.

I have just picked this up online. I don't know how much it may apply to Just You passengers but I thought I would send you the link anyway.

Thanks Bosuncat,

I'm sure the team are already on it but I've forwarded the link on to my colleagues anyway.

Kindest regards,

Julia

It makes so much sense to me, one size fits all airlines etc, having just been on a package holiday with Thomson I could not believe the size of some hand luggage in the end hubby's back pack was stuffed under the seat in front no room in the overhead bins.

I read it that a change has been proposed. It probably will be implemented in the near future, so it's "watch this space" and check latest allowances before travel.

yes carry on luggage is hand luggage that goes on the plane with you, not in the hold. This is only a suggestion that might come into practice one day. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

I think I have come across it worst going to and from the U.S.A. I could not believe the size of some people's hand luggage.

It seems to be getting worse over here. I usually carry one small carry bag with me to be honest. The main weight in it will be extra water after security.

I tend to take a small rucksack for my hand luggage and it really irritates when i'm told i have to keep it under the seat in front because there is no room in the overhaed lockers due to those people who put the kitchen sink up there.

How much stuff do you need on a flight ?

Limitations should be much tighter in my opinion.

I totally agree with all the comments made. South African Airways says that you can only take 8kg hand luggage, but seeing the size of the bags being taken onboard meant that people were carrying more than the suggested allowance. On the internal flight someone put their hand luggage on my rucksack and crushed the items inside. Coming back, I was able to stop a girl placing her heavy bag on my rucksack - I was keeping an eye as I had some fragile souvenirs in the rucksack and had I not been alert they would all have been damaged. Personally they should stop people taking big bags on the plane even though they are within the weight limit. Just in case a bag fell on someone's head, they would either be badly injured or killed!

I agree, I just take my handbag on the plane and put it under the seat out of the way, then sit myself down and watch people trying to cram suitcases into the overhead locker. It always amazes me how much stuff people think they need on holiday!

I agree with Jaya, one of these days something will fall out and knock someone out.
