Hi All,

I'm thinking of booking a holiday to Tuscany, departing in October from Manchester.

Hi Stephen.

I'm going to Tuscany on the 3rd October departure from Gatwick. Which date are you thinking of? This will be my 4th trip with JY. I have been twice to the Cilento Coast and once to Istria.

Hi Paula,

the groups tend to be bigger on the long haul, for instance the Golden West tour regularly gets 35-40 (I've done this tour twice, can recommend it). average age tends to be 50's but it is a mix, some younger, 30's, 40's, some older. The mix is usualy 2:1 or even 3:1 female to male. Everyones nervous so take the plunge, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Hi All,

I am thinking about going on one of these holidays, start off with a short break to France and see how I get on. I have looked at tours with other companies but you have to pay extra for a single suppliment and to be fair I dont like the idea of being a bit of a gooseberry and people feeling obliged to ask me to sit with them. I am a very outgoing person and can get on with most people. The only thing I think maybe an issue is my age. I am 35 will I be the only person of this age going or are the tours varied in age? Its not a deal breaker but it would be nice to have someone close to my age to share the experience with. I had a look at a tour through the Sunday Times which looked nice but the average age was 65-70. Like I say not a deal breaker just interested to know.

Many thanks x 🙂

Hi there,

I've booked Edinburgh for Christmas - I tried to get that one before but it was all booked up by August, so made sure I got in early this time. I only have a short distance to travel (about an hour!) to get there, but it is supposed to be a good break - good Scottish hospitality!

Hi Crislad,

If you look at some of the other posts you'll see that you could well be the youngest on a tour. I've been using JY since I was 40 and I've only been the youngest once. Two of the tours had people in their 20s on them and on most tours there's been a couple of people in their 30s or 40s. But as you say, if it's not a deal breaker then I'd go and book the tour your want and you may or may not be the youngest. In my case, I've usually spent the most time with folks who are a bit older than me even when there have been ones my age - it's just the way things worked out! I would say that on average the age range tends to be younger on long haul tours than on the European ones though...

All the best,

Bob

There have been lots of posts about age. The average age has been getting steadily younger over the years but at 35 you will still be one of the younger in any group. The majority tend to be 50-60 but cover anything from 20's to 80's. The type of holiday is also a factor. I started doing these trips at 31 and eleven years later still love everything about the holidays. Admin or Julia will advise you of the ages of people already booked on a particular holiday if you are concerned.

Don't just think about booking - go for it, you really won't regret it.

Hi everbody! I'm thinking on going away for a while for some kind of a Eurotrip, probably in November! I was able to get some time off from work and would like to see more of Europe. So I'm just kinda exploring to see what the best trip will be for me!

To all newbies, I've been on a few Just You holidays, and each time I book I still feel like a newbie! next stop is Tuscany in October.

Any queries just ask and I'll try to answer, I still know what it's like to have that 'nebie' nervousness!

Hi I'm about to do my 6th JY and I've my 7th booked and I always feel like a newbie as I head off to the airport too! It's really just nervous excitement which always disappears when we all meet up and the holiday begins! When the plane lands at our destination, any nerves just disappear and the enjoyment really begins. I hope all those who have booked their first JY hol all have a wonderful time and this is the beginning of a new and exciting chapter in your lives!

All the best,

Bob

Hi

I'm new here and considering the Inspirational China trip next September as my first holiday alone since my husband passed away November last year. I thought of doing one of the Italy trips as I've always fancied Italy, and its short haul.. but the China one looks so interesting I'm finding it difficult to choose.. a bit of research may help!

Part of me is excited because I'm thinking of doing it (after a bit more mulling it over probably!), and part of me is scared of taking the plunge!

I never thought I'd be faced with having to travel alone, but I love going on holiday and don't want family to feel they have to invite me, and I also want to be able to choose the holiday I want to do... so Just You is perfect... If I can build up the courage to book!! :-/

Having read the posts though I'm closer to booking it than I was!

Cheers, Di
