Hi Will,

Are there any city breaks that JY are keen on offering?

ROME please! Id love a 3/4 night break just in Rome. I know JY do the classic cities but Ive been to Florence , Venice many times but have only spent a day in Rome years ago while staying some miles outside the city. I have traeled the internet for such a solos break and came up with ONE company that offer Rome as a mini break. If JY dont include it next year I will definitely book with the other company.

Hi Mark, the obvious, but honest, answer is that we are keen to offer places where people want to go. Mostly the big hitters, nothing very niche yet!

Having suffered jet lag there and since getting back from the USA. I cannot imagine doing New York or similar for a few days break....

I went to Prague for a mid week break and also Barcelona for few days a few years ago, that's enough time to see What's on offer...I liked both places but have no desire to go back...

Hello Will,

Do you think the Northern Lights will be an option for next year as a few people are interested in going.

I am asking purely for selfish reasons I am 50 in February and would love to go for my special birthday.

Regards Julie

Hi Julie,

I'm honestly not sure just yet. I'd say it was a possibility though for sure

What a great idea from JY!

I would definitely be interested in going on several of these over time. I think all of my personal favourites have already been mentioned in other posts, but just for the record - New York, Berlin, Copenhagen, Lisbon, Stockholm, Barcelona (been there and loved it a few years ago), Oslo and Warsaw! Incidentally the existing Prague/Vienna/Budapest trip is on my "to do" list but haven't got round to it yet!

I look forward to seeing at least some of these appear in a future brochure.....

Michael.

Hello,

Not a city break, but how about the Channel Islands as a holiday destination?

Kind regards

Ann

Further suggestion, how about Las Vegas for 4/5 nights? Assume there are some times of the year when there are few conventions - know that hotel prices can be low outside of weekends. (But would wish for a better located hotel than the Stratosphere - which is a bit out on a limb at the North end of the Strip).

Rome would be a great city break. I went for a week with friends in 2009 and there is so much to see and do it's amazing. You can pack that much into each day that most people will feel like they have had a holiday even if its only for 3 days :0)

I too, would like to express my enthusiasm for this thread. Not everybody has the time or the budget to do the longer holidays which seem to make up the bulk of the JY range, and the choice of short breaks with JY and Travelsphere seems to have shrunk since the coach trips were phased out last Autumn. Personally, I would guess that potential future clients would be willing to give JY a go, with an improved range of short / city breaks, even by air, but there needs to be connecting flights available - and British Airways withdrew its Manchester - Gatwick service several months ago, thereby complicating things for Northeners such as I!

As for destinations, there have been some good ideas in this thread. I recall that Berlin and Paris have been offered before, but I'm sure a reappearance would be welcomed (because I missed them!) I would like to see Barcelona appear as a destination in its own right, or an expanded version of Toronto + Niagara Falls, a former package which was only in the brochure for one year with a duration of just two nights. Other destinations which spring to mind, not mentioned in this thread are Milan and Bucharest (possibly combined with a visit to "Dracula country"!)

To date, the only single-destination city break I have done with JY was Istanbul (three nights), and was a credit to the Product Specialist who created it, JY, with a very competent Tour Manager, (a local gentleman by the name of Haluc). In short, more city breaks please!

Hi Will,

I've always wanted to visit Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria so would welcome a short break in this area.

Hi Kezzer,

I visited Neuschwanstein about 20 years ago when inter-railing and loved it, although the queue was very long to get in (if it was on a JY tour you wouldn't have to queue - one of the best benefits of goingon an organised tour if you ask me!). There is lots to see in the Munich area, so I think it would be a very good destination for a short break.

All the best,

Bob

I've been to almost all the cities already mentioned, but could easily be tempted back.

The one I'd really like to do though is Istanbul. I keep looking at it, but it's very expensive. Could we have a three-nighter please?

Rome and Paris would be top of list. Would love to revisit both ciies. Also, could we have some more holidays of all lengths departing from Stansted

Hi Will

I would like to visit all the European capitals. And I'd also be interested in spending a few days in Berlin, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.

Tried to see the Northern Lights on three different occasions and have failed miserbly so far.

Good morning one and all!

Another thread for you to have your say and directly influence some new holidays here!

We have had numerous mentions of short city tours as a possible holiday from you, so this is something we are looking into a little bit more.

What I would like to know from you is what destinations would you be likely to book for a 3 to 4 day city break?

Remember - we always listen to you!

Have a great Thursday all

Will

I would like to spend a few days in New York with Just You
