Hi I agree with what others have said about Iceland and the Northern Lights - if JY were to consider this, maybe it might be possible to have a couple of Iceland tours during the year (when it won't be quite so cold there!) and then one over the winter months with the usual itinerary but also the opportunity to look for the Northern Lights at night. A number of tour operators do this, but mostly they just have one NL excursion on one particular night. I agree it would be risky doing this and there would be a high chance that you wouldn't see them if it was just a trip on one night. So I'd suggest that if JY were to introduce an Iceland (or even northern Norway/Finland) NL tour - that the itinerary be flexible so that if the NL weren't seen on the first night, the tour manager would bring the party out again on subsequent nights, thereby maximising the chances of seeing them. Not sure if I've explained this very clearly, but I hope you know what I mean!

Dubai would be a great short trip break - I see Travelsphere has just introduced it as a destination in their new "Relax and Discover" range and it sounds great!

Hi Will,

If you're only talking about European tours then i guess all the capitals are the obvious contenders.

I would do the 3 capitals tour however it is simply not long enough- 12 days, 4 in each city would be perfect. The ones i would be interested in would be:

Paris, Berlin, Rome, Zagreb, Budapest, Vienna, Prague, Warsaw, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Tallin.

Guess you have a lot of work to do hehe. Are there any that JY have in mind to produce?

Thanks

I'm a real city breaks fan and try to do 1 or 2 every year. I'd love to visit the Baltic capitals and other Eastern European destinations such as Croatia / Macedonia (another fan!) I'd happily revisit Barcelona, Copenhagen and Vienna. Rome and Seville are wonderful for short breaks - I've been to both of them in the past 12 months.

Well seeing as everyone else is having their say - I'll have mine too.....

I'd consider booking if we were to do city breaks to Dubrovnik, Budapest, Prague, Vienna or Barcelona (I know we visit some of these on longer tours, but a short city break would be perfect!). I'd also go back to Rome in a heartbeat.

I would like Barcelona. The current holiday does not spend enough time in Barcelona to see all the sights. Marrakesh is another on my list. Budapest and Vienna also favourites.

I'd be interested in Berlin and Prague. I visited Berlin in the 70s when the area along the Wall was just a wasteland waiting for the 30-year time limit to be up before anyone could start demolishing/rebuilding, and I'd love to see how it's changed (even if I might not like it!). And I never got to Prague with my work - I got sent to Bucharest instead!

Hi RosieMo,

Good Choices.

Could you do me a favour and voice your support for Montenegro in the thread i have created?

Thanks

Hi Will,

Although I've been to them before on a day trip, I would like to go to them again and spend a few days there seeing the sights missed and getting to know the place. They are Iceland and Isle of Man.

Hello Will,

Thanks for that! Have not seen it before because I normally use Australia Touring Holidays in my favourites shortcut so I do not normally go to JY web site for the community boards.

Was not planning any holidays this year as spent out doing Singapore, Australia & New Zealand last year. BUT now you have pointed this Isle of Man trip may shortly reconsider.

Best regards

Eric.

Milan! Wonderful public transport infra structure, and so easy to find your way round independently if need be. Lots of wonderful churches especially the Duomo, museums, La Scala, great shopping and eating and you can get up to Como on the train. I can see only one JY trip that does it which is Lake Como, so it is sadly under promoted in my view.

I'm lucky because I have a friend who lives there so I have been a few times. Gotta love the place.

An added bonus is that there are flights there from more Northern airports. 😛

I would be interested in any of the Scandinavian cities as have never been to one. Also New York. Boston is lovely too - I spent a weekend there years ago (free trip courtesy of British Airways!) and managed to do quite a lot during this short time.

I love city breaks - really enjoyed Istanbul last year. There are lots of cities I'd like to visit including New York, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Rome. The Istanbul trip was a good length, 4 nights I think but I suppose the number of nights depends on the size of the city and whether jet lag is a factor.

In the US, a 2 centre break would be interesting, like NY and Boston - might be a bit shorter than one of the long US breaks and would suit me better.
