Good afternoon Ben,

I have been advised today that apparently Balloon flights over the city of Melbourne are a must thing to do whilst in Melbourne. Just had a look at excursions available that were supplied with my final documentation and this excursion is not on it.

Do you know Ben why this is not included as a choice and do you have any information on this activity? Would Edward our tour manager be able to arrange a balloon fight whilst we are there?

Hi Eric,

great to hear from you, Edward has passed on the following to me -

On the Australia tour we usually offer the hot air balloon ride in Alice Springs as this is when it fits in best with the tour and goes most mornings depending on the weather.

I'm sure we could arrange one in Melbourne if that what the customer would like to do. The customer would be able to book this through the hotel when we arrive,

I hope this helps Eric,

Kindest,

Ben

Thanks Ben for the information.

Just looked on the internet and there are a couple of firms that do it. Will get in touch with them for details etc.

As a (cheaper) alternative, you might also want to consider going up the Eureka Tower (tallest building in Melbourne, around 300m), which has amazing views over the city on a clear day (which is most days in Melbourne).

http://www.eurekaskydeck.com.au  which takes you out into space, almost 1000 ft up. It's a great experience, but you need to be OK with heights.

A must while you're in Sydney is the bridge climb, which doesn't need that good a head for heights, just a reasonable level of confidence say with a tall ladder. Given that they are obsessive with safety, it's totally impossible to fall anyway. The only drawback, is that it's quite expensive at around 220 Aus Dollars (more at twilight).

Enjoy Australia

Hi Stuart,

Thank you for that information. Learning more every day. Must open and read my tourist book on Australia that I bought ages ago.

Eureka tower sound good to do instead of the ballon flight.

Did think about Sydney Bridge but am planning to visit and stay with relations considerably south of Syndey so I might not get the time.

Eric
