Hello,

Hoping i'm posting in the correct part of the forum.

As a first timer with JY I am thinking of booking for Croatia on 1st May. As there does not seem to be much public transport around the hotel I may want to book some optional excursions but there is no indication of the prices of these for this holiday.

Can you give me an idea of costs? I do not want to book the holiday and be stuck as trips are very expensive!

Hi mulberrymarmalade. I am going to Croatia on 1st May too. I've been to Rabac a couple of times before back in the 80's. As Olly says do Venice (although I haven't myself lol), but could I recommend from personal experience The Plitive Lakes. Its a long day but absolutely amazing scenery.

Incidentally there are local buses up to Labin which is well worth a look round.

Look forward to meeting you.

Hi Olly. Many thanks from me for this!! Were you able to find out for me if the catamaran for Venice leaves from Rabac or not please?

Good points on the Plitvice trip. It's a stunning place and well worth the long coach journey, but lots and lots of steps, and if the weather has been inclement it can get a little bit slippery, as most of the walking is on wood. Just wanted to add that to what you have said.

Thanks Olly. Just to explain the reason for asking. The last couple of times I went to Rabac I missed out on the Venice trip because of the early morning coach travel to get to the ferry for the trip. I do not travel well early morning wise on a coach. I am determined to do the trip this time, and was just hoping that the catamaran goes from Rabac or somewhere close. I am presuming it will be an early morning start.

Hi Bondensbabe

The catamaran leaves from Porec, so there would be a coach transfer from Rabac to Porec of about 1 hr 30mins.

I expect it will be a fairly early start but definitely worth it so that you make the most of Venice.
