I see there are still poor reviews about the Ramada Hotel at Lake Garda. If the food is so bad that people go down the road to eat,why do Just You use this hotel? Is it really that bad? I'd like to hear your comments on the hotel as I would like to book this holiday.

Hi Hazel

We take a lot of care in choosing our hotels and expect high standards from them. If we feel that standards have slipped we find a different hotel to use.

I'm not sure which reviews you are referring to but I can assure you that the vast majority of travellers on this holiday are happy with the food. I hope these comments won't put you off booking as this really is a beautiful part of the world.

Kind regards

Hi Olly

I have already book to got to Lake Garda next year but since reading reviews on the food at the hotel have had the shine taken off a holiday I was really looking forward to.

Would Just You consider changing the hotel if the reviews don't get any better.

Hi Sue

We are constantly reviewing the hotels we use to keep standards high so it is always possible that we might change.

However, I don't think we would change a hotel on the basis of one or two reviews - I don't think that would be fair to the hotel or to customers who would have enjoyed staying there in the future.

I think food is something that people have strong opinions about. We're all accustomed to eating different kinds of food and have different tastes and different ideas about what we want to eat on holiday. Because of this, it's hard to please everyone but our hotels all aim to serve food that will have the broadest possible appeal.

So I hope you will still look forward to your holiday - I think it would be a shame not to because of a few reviews written by people who may have very different tastes to you.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

The food is fine at the Ramada-just a little repetative. What is their staple food? Yes pasta and more pasta. We had a great time back in June. Our only problem was the road down to the supermarket- blind corners were a nightmare-how no-one was injured or killed baffles me. Do not forget to weigh your fruit and veg- the cashiers were very irate without any English or us with Italian to translate why we were holding up the queue!!!

Enjoy your holiday-we certainly did. Jan.

Hello,

I stayed at this hotel in September and will tell you my findings.

Breakfast was good, choice of cereals, fruit, yogurt, bacon, eggs, sausages and a variety of bread and cake: all very nice.

Dinner was a 4 course affair, the first being salad and it may be this that is the problem. It was very boring the same just about every day, lettuce, cucumber, beetroot, shredded carrot and sweetcorn. Next course was either soup or pasta, and only one choice of each, but which was also very nice.

Meat or fish next again only one choice or the other, but again nice.

Dessert again not a lot of choice, and if you chose fruit it was 2 pieces of fruit on a plate.

I would not say that the food in this hotel is 4 star, but I do like my food and it certainly is not poor and really the poor bit could be the lack of choice and possibly sometimes the time it took to serve it.

The rooms are fabulous and my cleaner did a magnificent job, do not let the poor restaurant review stop you from booking, I had a wonderful time.

I hope this help you make up your mind.
