Hi Ollie .

there seems to be quite a lot of confusion surrounding what we should be taking as luggage to Kenya. could you get this clarified for us please.

I have conflicting info on this subject and am now totally confused.. as are others as what we should be doing.

I have been told that we can take a soft holdall for the safari and a case for the hotel and that these can both go in the hold of the aircraft. but I have also been told that we should put the case in the hold and the soft bag as hand luggage. It has also been suggested that we pack the holdall inside the case but this doesnt seem like a sensible option to me .

Help !!!!!!!

Hi Mary

You will need a soft-sided holdall for the safari and another case for the second part of your holiday. You can check these in separately as long as the combined weight is no more than 20kg.

You don't have to pack your soft holdall inside your main case if you don't like that idea.

You are also allowed to take hand luggage (eg a handbag or small rucksack) in addition to your main case and soft-sided holdall - again, that's entirely up to you.

I hopes this clarifies things for you.

Kind regards

Hi Olly,

I am also confused about the luggage as Kenya Airways website indicates that the allowance is 30kg total (this covers the domestic flight element). I was planning on 20kg for my case in the hold and up to 10kg for a soft sports holdall with cabin bag size of 55cm x 38cm x 20cm for the safari things. I was hoping that all my info would be confirmed when the ticket info arrives, It doesn't leave long to change things. I doubt very much if I would get my case under 20kg weight for the full 13 days hence hoping to use some as cabin allowance.

Please could you let us know specific size & weight of cabin allowance.

Regards
