I'm booked on this trip can't wait but could you advise me on what to take clothes wise I have been told by a friend to take cropped trousers/ skirts( apprently the Chinese frown on foreign women in shorts ???) for the day and a light jacket is this correct also is it smart /casual for evenings

any other advice on what to take would be great have posted on some of the boards but got no response ??

Hi Hilary

It's likely to be pretty warm during your visit so you'll need more light clothes than heavy clothes - the Beijing temperature is likely to be between 14 and 26 degrees. It's worth having a jumper or two for the evenings and a lightweight waterproof is always a good idea.

I also think you will be fine wearing long shorts.
