I was wondering if you could let me know what the extra trips were for this holiday. If I fancied doing Alcatraz which is not included in the trip is there free time to be able to fit it in. Also, if I took American travellers cheques can these be used in shops/restaurants??

We don't offer an excursion to Alcatraz but quite a few customers make their own arrangements to do this. The time to do it would be early afternoon on day 2, as you won't want to miss the included sightseeing tour. I'd recommend booking a ticket for Alcatraz online in advance, as they tend to sell out fast. You'll receive full details of the optional excursions two to three weeks before you travel, but you can also find out more by calling us on 0800 567 7393. I don't have access to this information at the moment.

I understand it is often possible to use travellers' cheques as cash at shops and restaurants the US. I haven't tried it myself though, so I'd recommend taking some dollars as well.
