Hi All, am travelling to Sri Lanka in March next year, really looking forward to it.  I know it is a closed currency so just wondered what previous travellers have done with regards to changing money

Kind regards

Christine

Hi Christine,

I was in Sri Lanka in September, I used one of the currency counters in the airport to exchange the bulk of my currency (put on card) and then used sterling and dollars (left over from previous trips) and exchanged this at hotels as we travelled around. It is worth noting that not all hotels will exchange currency or give you the best rate.... but do not worry - the Tour Manager will be able to advise of the best opportunities for you to exchange your money.

Kindest regards,

Julia

I am also doing the Sri Lanka trip in Feb next year and have just applied for my visa.  On the form it says that on arrival you have to demonstrate that you have enough money for your stay.  Any advice on how to do this?

Many thanks

Hi Jonah,

I wasn't asked this when I arrived in Sri Lanka however common means of demonstating you have enough money is having a credit card or cash in your possession.

Kindest regards,

Julia
