Hi, I’m thinking of going on this holiday in May, firstly has anyone been during the month of May and what was the weather like? Secondly, what optional tours that JY put on, is worth booking? Also, can anyone tell me what the hotel is like and surrounding area, is there an indoor pool/gym/spa? Are there any nice restaurants nearby to go for dinner as I understand not all evening meals are included? Apologies for all the questions but want to make sure it’s right for me. Sue

Hi Sue

I went on this holiday in May last year and if you type in ' Highlights of tuscany 10-17th ' in the search box I have done a fairly comprehensive review. The weather was warm and comfortable for sightseeing just one slightly cold damp day. I would say do all the tours certainly well worth it. I am unable to help with restaurants as all dinners were included on our trip. Also the opera evening has been added now but our TM arranged a trip for our tour which (Maria36)  thoroughly enjoyed. I would say book it you certainly will not be disappointed and also go for the room upgrade. Hope this helps with your decision. Paul

Thank you for all the useful comments. I’m not really an opera fan so will give that a miss. Read your review, sounds good. Is there an indoor pool and spa/gym in hotel? The hotel itself, is it in a quiet area or are there any cafes and shops nearby? I also like a very quiet room and noticed this hotel is on a main road, so any suggestions on where in hotel and floor should I request a room? Is there a massive amount of walking on these trips? Sue

There is only the outdoor pool. According to details on their website they have sauna, fitness centre and wellness centre. I think at least one of the ladies on our trip used it. Main shopping/cafes etc approx 200 yards left from hotel. Road did not seem overly busy but I had a balcony room at rear of hotel overlooking Montecatini Alto (must visit by the way) but I don't recall anyone complaining of road noise. There is a reasonable amount of walking but very evenly paced and I wouldn't class myself as the fittest but  coped without a problem. Hope this helps. Go on book it you know you want to??!!  Paul
