Hi Claire, I'm on 6th Nov. trip, just trying to work out how much money to take, as I am doing the add on to Zambia too. Look forward to meeting you in Heathrow lounge.

Hi Claire and Jan,

I have just returned from the Oct 16th trip.

This is a superb tour. You will love every minute.

Table Mountain is great. The Cape Tour is fabulous (try and get a seat on the right side of the coach for spectacular views). Penguins a delight. Botanical Gardens beautiful. Try the food hall at the V&A Waterfront for lunch on your free day. Amazing choices. (I recommend the roast lamb wraps). Wine tasting is early ! Ostriches odd. Try the ostrich meat if possible. We all raved about it ! Cango caves spectacular. Knysna hot and pretty. Good luck with the luggage at Joburg .. we had several breakages (clumsy handling rather than skullduggery). Kruger the absolute highlight. Magnificent array of animals. We saw the Big 5 + cheetah and 20 odd other species. Not to mention all the birds !

There are some longish drives and early starts but time to rest/snooze. Dinners are usually buffet style but good.

I didn’t do the Zambia add on and am still regretting it ! 12 of our group are still out there and it sounds like it’s fantastic too. We had a great group of 26 which was manageable. Have fun. It’s one to remember and cherish !!

Hi Jan

I read someone post from the October group, who said they were taking £6 - 800 worth of Rand!  I have £300 worth, which might be a problem if I choose to go on any optional excursions,  and the same in dollars and its too late now to get anymore until we get out there.  I also believe we have to have a warm fleece for the early mornings on the game drives.  I'm sure we'll be sorted when we get on the plane, see you in the lounge.

Claire  🙂
