Hi all

I know a lot of you lovely people have been on holiday to India and would like your thoughts and tips.  I'm thinking of going on the "Spirit of India" holiday next year as the reviews sound wonderful but I'm not sure what time of year is best to go and would love your views.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Sylvie

I did this trip in 2012 and it remains my favourite JY holiday. It is a very full on tour but you do and see so much. My lasting memories are seeing the Taj Mahal at dawn, tigers in the wild and sailing on the Ganges. All the hotels are of a very good standard and there wad always an alternative to curry available. India is a fascinating country and I hope to see more of it.

Any questions please ask

Hello Sylvie

> I'm not sure what time of year is best to go

I have been twice to India (north/central and south), both in February/early March, and the weather was fine each time, so I would definitely return then. I don't think I would want to go any later than March as I think it gets very hot after that.

I imagine that (late) October and November would be similar.

The far north, being higher, is presumably cooler, so the above would not necessarily apply - but check the weather for (the) rainy season(s)!

Thank you Lesley I can't wait to book this holiday for next year. The reviews sound wonderful and I know a lot of tours are a 6am start. What time of year did you go and what was the weather like?

Thanks Jim for your advice it was very helpful. Checked the rainy season and its between July and September, so I think it will be okay to go around Feb/March.  Just notice that the 4 February 2019 is already sold out....so I'm going to have to make a decision pretty soon and get booking.
