Hi Catherine

Spending money is really a personal thing but if there are meals to purchase and any optional excursions to pay for then budget accordingly. If there is an option to pay for the optional excursions before you travel then I would do so, which means you do not need to carry a lot of cash. You also have to budget for any souvenirs you may wish to get. Besides cash I usually also take a credit card for any emergencies. Have a lovely holiday.

I agree with Jaya, also factor in there might be extra optional trips when you get there and you won’t want to miss out, when I was in HGK/NZ there were a total of 5 ad hoc trips which did add up. Also tips will need to be factored in, local guides, food stops, hotel staff, JY TM etc.

Agree with both Jaya and Cindy. Credit card only to fly around Mount Cook at $425 NZ plus 6 ad hoc in Singapore alone, cash only. I paid for most of my optional trips before I left making it easier on my purse. I took a £1000 made up of both Singapore and New Zealand dollars, did not have much left when I came home due to tips and food. Used taxis twice in Singapore as I wanted the Hard Rock Cafe and to see the ABM - a glass fronted building with a car on view on so many levels - like a vending machine for those wanting to buy cars. My car mad nephew was gutted as it would be something that he would love to see. The Concierge at the Hotel Park Regis were amazing as they found out where it was and told the taxi driver where to take me. I missed the trip to Raffles that some of the ladies went to for their Singapore Sling as it was closed in the main bar and I think they were disappointed by the bar in which they were serving the Slings. I do not like Gin, so I was quite happy to miss it.
