Hi - this travelling alone is all new to me, apart from travelling alone to family in The States which I have done for the last 15 years, having lost my husband almost a year ago, the idea of trying somewhere else alone sounds good, actually doing it seems a bit scary. A short trip is probably the best way to start and I like the idea of the Italian Cities. Could anyone confirm this?

Hi - you simply must book one of these holidays.  I lost my husband Dec 16 and I quickly came to the realisation that in order to try and move on and live life as he would have wanted me to the I had to travel like we had planned. Within 6 months I was booked and going to the cilento Coast in Italy. It was an amazing holiday and I met some lovely women who all like me travelled solo for differing reasons. The holiday was a nice mix of culture and relaxation and the hotel had the most amazing spa facilities. I am going to India on Monday with Just You and Sicily in August - it Is a very safe way to travel and I hope to do many more trips with JY. Go for it book a trip what’s the worst that can happen it’s only a week out of your life. If it doesn’t work out just don’t do it again  but I assure you you will love it. You will feel so good having done something like this on your own

Hello.  I know exactly how you feel.  I split up with my partner of 16 years last summer and my friend who is a travel agent invited me to an evening with a Just You representative.  Within 2 weeks I had booked a holiday!  I am going to Prague, Vienna and Budapest in May for 8 days and am really looking forward to it.  It's something I never thought I would do and I must admit I am a bit nervous as it is a bit daunting, but it's also quite exciting!  Good Luck!  Diane 🙂

Hello

Is anyone on here going to Prague, Vienna and Budapest on the 8th May? It is my very first holiday with Just You and I am really looking forward to it but I have to admit I am a little nervous too as it is a bit daunting. Hope to hear from you. Diane 🙂

Hi Gillywhich!

I lost my husband in Sept 2015, and also felt some trepidation ‘going solo’ for the first time. I did the Highlights of Tuscany tour last October, and it was superb. I thought, like you, that a short trip would be best. Having taken the plunge, I decided to fulfil a dream, so in May I am going on the Western Wonders tour. I know it’s going to be very tiring, but exciting!

I hope you find a holiday that suits you, and that you have a very good experience.

Best wishes,

Sue

Hello Gillywhich,

I have done Lake Garda and Flavours of Tuscany, great trips where I saw what I wanted to see having fun doing it. Lost count now of JY holidays that I have taken with Douro River cruise booked for July and Oberammergau booked for 2020.

To Diane, have just come back from Prague at the weekend with 15 Hens. Beautiful city with the Astronomical Clock under wraps and not working 😠 Vienna was December for the Christmas Markets. Am unable to say about Budapest as I have never been there  Enjoy

Thanks Sue for your reply, I was told that the groups for the European trips are lager than those further afield. Was your group large ?

I think there were around 35 in my group. Everyone was very friendly! I don’t know whether this is considered a large group or not as it was my first JY trip.
