Hi there,

Are there people here who have been to South Africa Tour recently? or are going to go there either in February or March 2018 ? Can you tell more about your past or future experience? I am going in March 2018. Can't wait. What are the most important thing(s) to bring , not to forget? Thanks 🙂

Hi

I did this trip in March 2017 and thoroughly enjoyed the holiday. You see and do a lot and the time spent in the,Kruger National Park was unforgettable. There are some early starts but they are not onerous.

The weather was pleasantly warm so suggest you pack t-shirts and shorts or cropped trousers. Smart casual is fine for night time.

Hope you have a great holiday

I went on this tour in October last year. Hope you are planning to go to Zambia and Botswana. I would say, take a hoodie if you have one, you will need it when you visit Cape Cod and on safaris. I regretted not taking it. Also upgrade the storage plan before you leave. I took so many photos that I had to upgrade it twice while there. I went on a microlight flight, amazing experience.

Have a great holiday.

Thank you very much for your replies! I have travelled a lot but never in South Africa. I am very excited but at the same time a little worried for "security". I believe Just you travellers are fully escorted from start to finish and there should be no worry at all? I also have been told there are no vaccines required? Finally regarding travel insurance I don't know if I take the one of Just you other wise my own? What did you do?

Many thanks

Hi again

I had no security fears travelling in South Africa. I chose to take a course of Malarone (anti malarial tablets) as I felt it was better to be safe than sorry!

I always organise my own insurance as I find the same cover is often cheaper. Likewise with domestic flights as I live in Scotland.

Any other questions please ask.

Hi Cherry

I too have been on this trip in September 2016 and did not take any malaria tablets. South Africa was safe - just listen to your Tour Manager and don't go wandering on your own in areas you should not. I think Cape Town is pretty safe, but you have to avoid some areas in Johannesburg. This is a brilliant Tour so go and enjoy every minute of it. I too buy my own travel insurance - I have started getting an annual policy. I think this is an individual choice - either to get one from Just You or buy your own.

Regards

Jaya

Hi Jaya

Thanks a lot for your reassuring message. As it's my first time, I am always worried in a new country I go. My Gp also said not to worry on vaccines story. I will take my own insurance you are right! thanks again !
