I know it is a year away but I am thinking of booking the invitation to India for for April 18. I am a teacher so tied to the school Holidays.

I have always wanted to go to India and I have decided not to put it off any longer. None of my friends or family want to join me so I was pleasantly surprised when I found this web site. Now all I've got to do is pluck up the courage to book it!

Anybody else thinking of booking that tour? Any encouragement or details of what India is like at that time of year?

Hi Jo,

I did the longer Spirit of India five years ago and loved it - lots of early starts and a bit of a culture shock, but a great experience!  I think the new tour is a great value tour, so go for it!  I went in March and it was hot and dry, so I reckon in April it would be that bit hotter still - but at least it wasn't humid, so it was bearable.  JY are a great company - I've done 14 tours with them and have 3 more booked and I am sure you would have a great time.

All the best,

Bob

The month of April in Delhi, Agra etc will be boiling hot with temperature rising to approx 40-42 C. The heat will be unbearable. Even Indians living abroad avoid going ther.

It will be very hot. I would suggest to have Yakult (full fat) every morning for two weeks before the departure date, to line the gut with good bacteria. I do this every time I go to India to to visit my family, but not between March end and August.

Hi Jo

It may be hot in April, but at least it is not humid. I find, it is the humidity that is unbearable rather than dry heat. India is fascinating and I am sure you will love it whatever the weather!

Hi Julia

Would you be able to tell me if the travellers are male or female and what is their age range?

Thank you

Jo

Hi  I love india.  I spent five weeks there with my late husband.  We went during October/November and the weather was just right.   I do not like travelling when it is very hot so we did a lot of research to find the best time of year to go.   There is not way I would go there in april.
