Hi, I am thinking of booking my first solo holiday and after looking at all of the reviews, think that Inspirational China might be the right trip for me.  Please can you tell me how many people are booked onto the October and November trips and what the age ranges and the gender mix are?  How many people need to book to make the tour viable and what is the maximum number?  Thank you for your help.

Good Morning NickyJ,

You have great taste- Inspirational China is an amazing choice for your first solo holiday.

October- There are currently 9 travelers booked on this trip and the group is made up of 7 women and 2 men. The age ranges from late-30s to late-60s.

November: There are currently 10 travelers booked on this trip and the group is made up of 9 women and 1 man. The age ranges from late-teens to mid 70s.

We can take up to 30 travellers but this varies depending on the tour.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

Hi Nicky,

I am but a humble customer but I would say with those numbers already booked, it is highly likely that both tours will go ahead - there is still a long time to go and many people book around 4 months in advance.  When I did this tour in 2014, there were only 14 on it and we all had a great time.

All the best,

Bob

Thank you for the information. It's good to see that there are quite a lot of bookings already - I just need to pluck up the courage to book my place!

Hi Nicky

Go for it - you won't regret it!

This is a really popular tour - like Bob I did it in October 2014 (two weeks later than his departure). If you put 'China' in to the search function on the top right of the page, you'll find Bob's review and hints and tips from many others, including me. (and I genuinely do recommend the 'ear massage'!)

I understand that it's no longer possible to do the 'Panda Keeper Experience' (i.e. 1-2-1 Panda hugging) which I was fortunate to do at the Research Centre in Chengdu but you'll still get to see dozens of these amazing creatures (as well as some of the slightly bizarre looking Red Pandas) and, at that time of year, there should be lots of cubs in the nursery.

Happy to help if you have any questions but once again - go on, book it - you know you want to :)

All the best

Mandy

I am thinking about joining the October 2017 trip (male, mid 60s) but am concerned about food. I am vegetarian. I had an online chat with an agent who did his best but I would like some comments from people who have taken the trip previously.

Can anyone help?

Hi Tennisnut,

I'm not a veggie but did China with TS in October when there were a couple of veggies on the tour. The TM always made sure hotels/restaurants were aware we had veggies with us and they often had dishes prepared especially for them. There were also a lot more vegetable dishes on the regular servings than I was expecting. You should not go hungry. Have a good trip if you go ahead.

How many people are booked for the trip in September? Do big groups work well?

Hi

China was my first trip with JY back in 2010. Itinerary was slightly different but it was a great introduction to both the company and solo travelling. It is a very fast paced but you see so much.

I did the trip in September and the weather was warm and sunny apart fro two days when it rained very heavily. Suspect it will be quite cold by November.

There were vegetarians on the tour and meals were made available for them.

Hope this helps

Good Afternoon Deborahwarcup,

There are currently 10 travellers booked on this tour.

I believe big groups work well but your fellow Just You travellers should be able to advise you better due to their experience.

Kind Regards,

Mildred

I am vegetarian. Went on Christmas in China tour in 2016. For lunch and dinner, I had at least 12-14 items everyday. You will have no problem with the food.
