Hi all,

New to this single travel thing, but today I booked on my first trip to New York travelling from Manchester so would be interested to see if there are any others who have booked on?

Be nice to speak to anyone prior to the trip.

Very excited,

The newbie 🙂

Hi there.

I'm booking this trip in the morning. I'll be travelling from London.  I live on the south coast.

I was considering the March trip but I llooked at the weather and I have others plans for some of March.

I did wonder if  there were enough days there to fit everything in but I'm sure if you plan ahead and decide what you want to do you can cram everything in.

I'm sure more people will pop up when they book. Otherwise it may just be you and me!!

Hi Penny,

Great stuff! Looks like we will all be busy for them few days judging by the itinerary.

I shall be going from Manchester.

See you in the big apple!

Made my booking.  🙂

I'm wondering if you fly to Heathrow and we all go on the same plane??

If so see you there.

Hi Both,

I just booked the New York holiday for May 2017.

This is my 4th JY holiday so far...

It does look like a packed itinerary. That's what I like about JY holidays.

I have so many ideas for the half day spare. Definitely want to travel the subway - would love to walk the bridges - would quite like to go out to the Statue of liberty or even to Staten island. I'll have to pick one, and need to be careful to be back in time to go up the Empire State Building. I really can't wait...

Looking forward to seeing you all

Hi there.

I too will want to be prepared for any other sightseeing I will want to do. Definately ride the subway. I saw on one of the reviews that there are no stops when taking the coach around the city. On one occasion someone got off the coach at Ground Zero in order to spend more time there. I too want to spend time there. I'd also like to do a horse and carriage ride around central park. I'm happy enough to do these things on my own if no one wants to join me. I'm sure we can all chat about it at the airport and hotel. X

Hi all,

I went to NYC in September and I see some of your comments and thought I'd share my experience.  On the coach trips you get various stop offs usually only for 15-30 minutes but you do get them, for example we went to Washington Square Park, Rockafella Centre (day and eve), ground zero (one of our party stayed as wanted longer time there).  We used the subway to go to Central Park on the Sunday, overall we experienced subway, coach, bus, taxi and ferry whilst there (oh and helicopter if you chose to do it) so you get to travel around in all different ways to get a full experience.  Once the Central Park tour has finished (or you don't have to do it) you have free time so can take a horse and carriage ride (we saw them when we got there), our group all split off for that afternoon and either went shopping, the high line etc.

If you sign up to all the excursions you do not get a lot of free time but I'm glad I signed up to them all as I don't think I would have seen half of the sights otherwise.  It has made me want to go back and I certainly will.

Our group kept splitting up, for example somebody would say they wanted to do X and asked if anybody else wanted to join leaving it up to people to join or do their own thing, it was all very relaxed and different people doing different things together.

It is a jam packed holiday but it is well worth it and I hope you all enjoy yourselves, you're making me jealous already.
