I recently booked for the Wild Borneo trip in May 2017.

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's journals/posts about their trips and I'm really excited for next year.

I've not done anything like this before, so I'm a little daunted by it, but I'm sure it will all be fine.

Has anyone else booked for the same trip/date?

I did my first trip in 2010 and,like you,chose long haul to China. Have been travelling with JY ever since and have done both long haul and European tours. 

You will meet lots of interesting people of different ages.

I'm super excited, although a bit nervous about meeting everybody, but it's nice that we can say hi to a few other travellers on this forum before we go.

I've just had a new invoice through which now says the destination airport is Kuala Lumpa rather than Singapore and the third flight out has been removed, but added onto the return.

Just wondered if this means there has been any significant changes to anything?

(Don't want to get on the wrong flight and end up somewhere else!)   :huh:

Any info would be great!

You would be better off directing your question to the Ask the Editor part of the forum or speaking to customer services.

I agree with Sylvia but one thing I've learnt over the last while is that although JY may have to change flights from time to time, due to availability, that everything will be all right in the end!  Nothing is ever definite until you receive your final documents two to three weeks before your departure - this goes for hotels as well as flights, itinerary and excursions.  So try not to worry as it will all become clear in due course!

Hi Haley, as Bob says, don't worry, all will be ok.  I've gone on several JY holidays and they look after us all wonderfully well. There's really no risk of getting lost!! I'm on this trip and getting very excited now!!??? I look forward to meeting you and all the other intrepid explorers on this trip. See you soon!! X

Hi Hayley. I'm a new by like you and travelling to Borneo May 2017. I am a little nervous too as I've never travelled anywhere on my own before. I am travelling from Heathrow, staying overnight before the flight at Terminal 4 Hilton. Looking forward to meeting you

Can anyone advise as to luggage...

Reading threads, it looks like people took suitcases on the Wild Borneo tour, but then used backpacks when in the lodges.

Is this correct?  Do you leave your suitcases somewhere whilst decanting into a backpack for this part of the trip?

Don't want to bring a suitcase if it has to come with me onto the boat into the jungle!

When I did this trip last year, not everyone took a backpack - most of us took our suitcases. In reality you do need 3 days' worth of clothes and toiletries and I personally found it easier to take the suitcase. There were some who took a small bag or backpack and the suitcases were left behind securely in the hotel. They then had to repack on the return. The choice is yours!

I'm going on that trip too, not long to wait now. Hopefully meet up with you at Heathrow.  Beginning to feel excited. ?
