Oops sorry Karen. I get confused on here as to who is writing what!!

Looking forward to meeting you too. Only four weeks to go. It will zoom by. Getting excited if a little nervous - it's my first time on this sort of holiday.

Yes only four weeks, it will be here in no time. It's my first time as well and I'm excited & a little nervous, but reading all the threads on this forum, we have nothing to worry about.

See you soon,

Karen

I tried to get on this trip but left it too late - no more spaces left. Ah well, my own fault.

I hope you all have a fantastic time... Tell us all about it when you get back. I want to hear your tips, because I'll be going on the 30th August departure now!

Hello all,

Glad to say I will be joining this trip after several weeks of physio on my poorly back.

I have done some homework on United Airlines and it appears we may be flying (from Heathrow) in an ancient 747 complete with ashtrays in the armrests!. If so there are no personal TV screens in economy. WIFI is available for personal devices but only if you have already downloaded the United app from their website. Even if you have this there are no power chargers for personal devices. This is an 11 hour flight!!

Bring a good book!!!

Hi Mark

Pleased to hear that you are well and travelling with us.

Have to say not impressed about the flight - you'd think on a long journey like that they would have a decent aircraft!

Anyway really looking forward to it and meeting you all either at Heathrow or Phoenix.

Just returned from Travelsphere's San Francisco to Vancouver.i stayed at Hotel Zephyr in San Francisco, very convenient for Fisherman's Wharf, but,it is undergoing renovation at the moment. The room was very comfortable,it even had a dart board and backgammon set, however the lobby is very small and only one lift working.

If you get the chance, the south end of the Golden Gate Bridge is worth visiting, great views,of the bridge, and it is possible to reach the walkway,on the bridge itself. There is a small information building, which includes a coffee shop.

Hi Keith,

Was a trip i considered for this years long haul (opted for Cuba later in the year instead) but am wishing i was going. Of course if anyone wants to drop out last minute I can pack very quick 😃.

Think they visit Sausalito which is over the bridge so suspect they will stop off at the viewpoint, agree its a great place for photos. Few years back on a independant trip i hired a bike and peddled my way over the bridge to Sausalito (lovely place), had lunch in a cafe and got the ferry back to Fishermans Wharf.
