Hi Julia/Tim

I've been looking at restaurants in SF as I really fancy trying the crab/seafood on Pier 39 as its a short walk from the hotel and I'm a bit of a foodie and try and avoid hotel restaurants

I was wondering what sort of time we are likely to get the hotel on day 1 as I was thinking about the need to book?

A couple of restaurants that look good are

http://www.crabhouse39.com/

http://fogharbor.com/

and wondered if you'd had any feedback from previous JY'ers

Anyone else on this trip fancy dinner out on the first day??

David

Hi David, the flight arrives at 14.35 so ETA at the hotel is 16.30. Based on that, a reservation for say 19.30 would work, as long as there are no flight delays.

Thanks,

Tim

Hi everyone

I have now also booked the Alcatraz trip for 8/10 at 2.10pm

I have also booked Grand Canyon trip 5BW-5K. I like the idea of the skywalk, though am a bit apprehensive about the helicopter - never been in one before.

Have also booked the Universal Studios tour. Think I'll leave anything else till we're out there.

ClareBear - there is absolutely no need to worry about having people to do things with. Usually what happens is that like-minded people tend to gravitate together, and there will always be some people who you will get on with and who you will tend to go around with. It's a good idea to try and sit with different people eg at mealtimes, to try and get to know as many as possible, though sometimes you gel with some people right from the start.

David - I like having meals out, but would rather see what everyone else is doing first, as early on in the holiday I think it's a good time to try and get to know everyone.

Looking forward to meeting up with everyone, probably at Wetherspoons?

Thanks Tim, I think might wait till we arrive and get the hotel to make a booking.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday week

Hi Claire

Yes Weatherspoon's is on the departure side, once you've gone through security you'll need to go downstairs and its near gates A1-8 - you can't miss it as the seating area is in the middle of the main concourse.

I'm also looking forward to some nice food - particularly some crab in SF and it will be great to have dinner together.
