hello Jan

I am on this tour but leaving in the 23rd Sept with a New York add on.

I did most of this tour on my very 1st JY tour in 2006 it was great so I am looking forward to re tracing step and also seeing Canada, there are also things I want to do which I didn't get time for so that's why I choose to do the add on part. This will be my 10th tour.

if you have any questions about JY etc just ask

Cindy

Hi Jan

I am on the tour on 29th too. I'm not doing the add-on in New York but really looking forward to the rest of the tour, and meeting up with everyone.

This is my 2nd trip with JY - I did the Golden West tour last year - and I'm flying in from Belfast the night before.

Hello Sarah

How fantastic that I have finally traced a fellow traveller down! It is my first trip with JY. Hi Cindy

This may seem a silly question to such a JY traveller!! How do you actually travel around? Coach, train, etc

Thanks

Hi again Jan

I lost my husband in 2010. Traveling JY has given me some wonderful experiences. Although I live in Essex, I am considering an overnight stay, couldn't bear to miss the flight! Where are you staying? Although I have to the US several times, I have never been to New York, so have decided on the add-on. Really getting excited now, look forward to meeting my fellow travellers.

Hello Jan

just seen this post after putting on a similar post just now. I'm on the September 29th trip with the New York Add on, so will look forward to meeting you and others on the trip. I'm already very excited about all the places we are visiting. At present I'm trying to plan a New York itinerary... So much to do!!! I'm considering pre-booking tickets for Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty as it will save queuing. Also similar for going to top of Rockefeller centre. Also planning to tour part of Central Park and possibly visit a museum or art gallery. If you or anyone else has nay ideas for this id be most grateful. Jan M

Hi Jan

Glad that you are coming too. I'm not staying on for New York as I've been there on 3 previous occasions. I would agree to pre book tickets and the time will fly by. Central Park is huge and I've only been in a very small part of it to see John Lennon's "Strawberry Field" I would highly recommend the organised bus tours - you learn so much. There is one going "down town" and one going "up town" . If you book on both you will be a good "feel" for New York.

Let me know if I can help further.

Thanks Jan, I had not thought about the organised bus tours ... I'll look into that they sound good. I'll probably prebook Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty plus Rockerfeller centre. Haven't decided how to do part of Central Park yet .. But have looked at things I'd like to see there. Look forward to meeting you on the 29th. I have been on lots of JY tours and other singles group holidays and loved everyone... So if there's anything you want to know about how they work just ask.

Hi Trish

It's good to hear from someone who is going on this trip next year. I was originally booked for 29 Sept this year but due to serious family problems have had to delay it. I'm now going 30 Sept 2015, is that when you go? I'm so envious of those talking about this year but it will be good to have something to look forward to in 2015 won't it.

Best wishes Sue

It will be coach on the tour ( if there's a rail journey it's usually stated in the brochure) the included excurisions e.g. Sightseeing tours are usually coach but may include some sections of walking. Tour manager and in some destinations a local guide give you plenty of information whilst on included excursions or travelling across the country. These tours are usually very busy, full on and with plenty of early morning starts, but I've loved each one I've done as you see so much. Haven't decided if I'm staying near heathrow on night before or with stepson who lives in Guildford. Will write on website nearer the time to let you know.
