Hi all,

Well my holiday is all paid for and now i have to sit back and wait for July. Just thought i'd introduce myself to any fellow travellers going on the above trip. I've been on a few JY/TS tours so am willing to answer any questions.

I'm going! Back in 2009 this was my second ever JY holiday, and I loved every minute of it. I'm so pleased this date falls in my school holidays! I have wanted to return to Garda since 2009.

Having been to Apulia a couple of times recently, I keep reminding myself that prices will be significantly higher in Northern Italy!

Especially looking forward to the Opera which wasn't available last time.

Hi Mark,

I did this trip.in June, 2013 & had a wonderful holiday.

The Verona Opera Festival (we saw Nabucco) was fab-u-lous, as was the day trip to Venice? Verona and the "balcony of thrills" lunch.

I am going on thos holiday again in September and I am really looking forward to it. . And the new hotel, looks lovely.

I made some.good friends on this holiday and we are all.im touch.

Our Tour Manager was Silvia, who.is.lovely and fun and very knowledgable. We email each other and she will be on your holiday. Also our coach driver Fabio was very nice as well.

I want to hear all about your holiday and the hotel, when you get home. And I hope you will really enjoy yourself, have a womderful time and make many friends.

Take care,

Lisa.

I must say, Marks that nothing springs to mind in terms of stuff to take on this holiday. It's all so civilised! Comfy shoes, a panama and a notebook are high on my list of priorities, along with plenty of cash for the alcohol!

Really looking forward to meeting the group! When I booked, I was told that I was the youngest in the party, and I'm 56, so probably a fairly mature group. Mind you, I often find that older folk are younger at heart and more fun!

Hello fellow travellers, anyone booked an upgrade for the Opera, also anyone arriving the night before at Gatwick, early flight.

I'm Joan, done a few single holidays, just love Italy, sorry, 66 old but never grown up.

Hi Joan,

I havent booked the upgrade because i found it too expensive, but im sure the opera will still be fantastic!

Hi Gwyn,

Lol with regards to the money comment. I went to the Cilento Coast last year which in retrospect was very cheap because it wasnt that commercialised. I would imagine Lake Garda being a lot more expensive?

Very expensive is how I remember it, roughly on a par with Austria which I also visited that Summer. It is blinking amazing though!

Hey, Joan, 66 ain't old! I have an opera update and am REALLY looking forward to it! I don't get to the opera often enough but did catch WNO's La Traviata recently. Whetted my appetite for Verona!

Hi Gwyn,

Thankfully being teetotal has it's advantages in this case. I always tend to book holidays that are half board because food in Italy is expensive!

Hi Mark,

I'm afraid at the moment you will need to call and book any optional excursions. We do have longer term plans to make these bookable online but it's a way off yet.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Well, I for one am VERY excited about this. I spotted this holiday before I had been on my hols last Summer. It's rattling towards the end of term in my world, which is great, but lots still to do.

I did the JY Garda holiday in 2009 and loved it. I hope to spend one day riding the boats, I did the optional garden last time and it was good, but not enough to persuade me to return. If anyone else fancies a day on the water, they're most welcome to join me!

Hi Gwyn/all,

Im sorry to have to inform you guys that i have had to cancel my holiday. This is as a result of continued ill health and my doctor recommended that i do not fly. Im gutted obviously but do want to hear how it goes, so make sure you all write a review upon your return.
