Hi Ella. I have been widowed for 5 years in February, I married my husband when I was 19 years old, and have just celebrated my 40th (ruby) anniversary on my own, going on holiday on your own is very hard, I did a discovery weekend and found I liked the people so booked my first holiday with just you in June 2012, I went to Costa Del La Lux which is very popular with all ages and then went to Bulgaria in the sept. You will love it. I have booked for Canada And New England in the Fall for sept 2014 as an early 60th birthday treat from me, Julie L

Hi Ella, I was in the same position last year. I bit the bullet and went to Turkey, Troy and Ephesus. It was a great trip.

Everyone has their own story, and nobody pried into my history. Gradually you want to open up to others when the time is right for you.

I had such a good time that I've just booked to go to Sicily in May!

Go for it, you'll be fine.

Dave

Hi Ellabow,

There are many people on here who are in/have been in a similar position. I think on the whole when you meet up with people on these holidays you are all out to have a good time and meet like minded people. Plus, JY is a safe and fun way to travel as everything is done for you all you have to do is pay and turn up to the airport!! If you are nervous, there are taster weekends in the UK that you could try. I dont know what age you are (im 27), however the majority of people are 50 upwards with some in their nineties and like me in their early/late twenties.

Hi Ella,

I lost my partner in 2009 and in 2010 decided i wanted to travel again, thought best to go with others although had travelled totally solo previously.

Found JY and went to Americas Golden West, loved it that much booked another holiday on my return (Andalucia).

I've now done 10 JY hols will 11 & 12 booked in 2014. Have made many friends on the various trips, have had reunions with some (days out), have holidayed with another, keep in touch with many by email.

Just find a holiday you fancy and go for it, remember the saying "don't regret the things you do, regret those you don't".

Welcome Ella

As all the other messages have said...GO FOR IT.....find something you fancy and book it. I have made some great travel friends and on some tours we link up on and go together but we ALWAYS mix in with the group? there are so many postings on here so look at what people have said, and then book on line or ring the office up they are very helpful.

Safe way to travel.

Great Places to visit

Lots of laughs, sometimes tears along the way.

value for money

People young and old to meet and make friends with

ladies out number the men

We only pass this way once make the most of it life's to short for regrets.

I have my 10th tour booked for 2014, I have been using JY since 2006 so if I can help with anything JUST ASK.

Hi Ella

I agree with all the comments made by everyone above. Just Go for It. Find a destination you always wanted to visit and book it. Life is too short and we should take every opportunity to do things we want to and try to get the most out of life. Travelling with Just You is wonderful - no need to worry about anything at all.

Hi Ella, im also apprehensive about my first hol alone after I lost my wife of 30 years earlier this year. Admit to being encouraged by so many members stating they found they had no need to feel anxious travelling with jy.

Hope this posts ok....just tried unsuccessfully replying on a topic concerning the holiday im going on (river douro).

Regards - Aled

Hello Ella,

Agree with all that has been said. I have completed 4 trips, all to places that I have on my bucket list. I decided at 50 that life was too short and speeding past at a fast rate. 7 years ago today I was celebrating my 50th in New York 🙂 7 years later and we are just about to enter 2014. I have Route 61 booked in November- love Blues music and Chicago is on my list- already done Memphis and New Orleans.

Decide where you fancy and go for it, it will be hard, been there, done that and got the T shirt. Lost my husband in 2011- can be raw when I hear certain songs. Have 2 wonderful daughters that love me and a great family.

Jan xx

Happy New Year
