Hi,

I am booked on the 17th February Spirit of India trip and would like to ask anybody's advice about travel insurance. I have an 86 year old mother who has cancer. I am just wondering if anybody knows of any insurance company that would cover me, bearing in mind her pre-existing condition. I am worried that she may become worse prior to my departure, and I would have to cancel, or that I may have to curtail the holiday and come home early if she did become very ill. I have just phoned Saga and they don't cover for this. Alternatively, would Just You allow me to change the date of the holiday at short notice? Any advice appreciated!

Many thanks, Jan

Hello Jan

I would suggest you ring the people in the main office they I am sure can point you in the right direction, or post on the editors board on here and Julia might be able to help you.

I have know of cases where people have had to cancel or change at short notice which sometime can be done, you might have to pay a changing fee or maybe you could just book the tour on a maybe you would be able to go...obviously I am not qualified to totally answer you so, If it was me I would talk to the girls..boys in the office they are usually most helpful.

It hope you can get the right answers and I hope you get to do the tour.

Hi Jan,

I know that most insurance companies do offer insurance as an option which covers you if you have to cut short your holiday due to the illness of an immediate member of your family. Unfortunately I don't know if they offer this if you already know that there is a pre-existing condition. You may need to call your insurance company and check with them directly.

Kind Regards
