Hi TheresaC, I noticed your posting in the middle of a thread about suitcase locks etc which Jack posted so thought it best to start a new thread that you may see rather than reply in the middle of the other one that's a few pages long. I am travelling to China on 7th August also; it's good to hear another name as only myself and Jack have been posting re this date. I've had my inocculations already and have today ordered some Chinese currency, I figure I'll take English money with me to change if necessary and also my credit card. I'm travelling down to Gatwick the night before by National Express as there are no direct flights from Manchester to Gatwick. Have you also booked the Yantze cruise add on? Hi M. Thanks for replying to my post. It's been a panic for me, Just You have been great I managed to avoid a big late surcharge. My currency and visa came midweek. I've just to pack now. I'm not doing Yangse River or have booked any excursions, I'll see what others are doing. I ran a search on China and noticed on another thread that you are catching the National Express. I'll be driving down the M6 on Tue you are more than welcome if you'd like a lift. I'll be having my evening meal and breakfast in the Premier and also leaving my car there. Going over together the four of us will be great. Cheers D

Thanks so much for the offer of a lift David, that's really kind of you however I'm fully booked on and paid up for the National Express; according to the schedule I should be getting to Gatwick approx 9.10 pm so expecting it to be a bit late to get an evening meal but was planning on doing breakfast in the morning although I notice that we have access to the Executive Lounge from 10am onwards so we can always get a mid morning snack there also and meet up with our fellow travellers. I've booked the Shanghai by night and Tsang Dynasty Show. I've collected my currency today but also intend to take English money and the trusty plastic. If I don't hear from you before I'll catch up with you at the Premier Inn hopefully. Assume you won't see this until Monday as posts take 24 hours to place and not over the weekend but am sure we'll be able to catch up on Wednesday morning before we head off to the airport. (I'll be the one in a navy blue hoody 🙂 )

It's good to see that I won't be the only Cumbria on this trip David! I'm from near Carlisle.

I'm staying at the North Terminal Premier Inn on the 6th. I agree with Marie, it's a good idea to meet up maybe for an evening meal or breakfast and go over to the airport together. Not long now!

Hi all. I'll be arriving at the North Premier at around tea time. I'm using the valet parking and they tell me the North Terminal is compact it couldn't be any easier. The valet parking, hotel and departure lounge are 2 mins walk apart. I've booked the Premier breakfast as it could be just nibbles in the exec lounge. I'll be having my evening meal in the Premier around half seven and my breakfast around eight. I[/code]'ve short cropped hair and will be wearing a checked shirt. Looking forward to meeting up with everyone D
