Hi Everyone !!!

Just received brochure for 2013/14 from Just You . I am thinking of doing the classic Cities of Italy tour next year and was wondering if anyone has any tips as to when is the best time to go ... I like it warm but not too hot . Also if you have been on this tour what were the highlights ?

many thanks :)

Hi Mary

I did this trip last year. I went in October, and the temperature was just right for city visiting. I think Spring would be OK too.

I loved it all, though it is a very busy itinerary; lots of early starts.

The three main city visits were very well organised, and set us up with a real practical approach for getting the most out of the city in the time available. I particularly loved Florence, so much so that I was inspired to go there again, this time for a weekend on my own in April.

There were also lovely trips into smaller towns/cities like Bologna, Lucca and Orvietto which were a delight.

Hope that helps

Hi Mary

I did this trip 2/3 of years ago, was about the third week in June and was way too hot for me. I subsequently went to Florence about the third week in September and it was still a little on the warm side.

If you haven't been to Italy before its a good overview - my favourite stop was Orvieto. The tour has changed a little since I went and the stop in Rome is actually in the City (rather than the dreary spa town miles away we were stuck in - glad JY listened to all the many complaints they must have received).

I just returned from this trip last week. Normally end May/early June is an ideal in Italy but this time it was terrible weather.

Altho I thoroughly enjoyed the holiday the rain, especially in Venice spoilt it alot.

I'm thinking of this trip. From your past experiences what age range does it attract, or is it a wide mix? I'm in my mid twenties, is there anyone close to that age that has been on this trip?

Thanks

Andy, re age range, when I did this tour a couple of years ago there were a few younger people - I would guess in their thirties. Most would have been in their 50s. The oldest maybe early 70s. If there's a particular date you want to go on you could ask Julia for the age range of those already booked. But, as everyone always says, everybody seems to get on - often the older group members have more energy than some much younger.
