Hi everyone, after looking at the brochure and reading the threads on here for a couple of weeks now, I finally went for it and have just booked my very first JY holiday to Florida in November, excited doesn't even cover it, I have always wanted to go to America and this is my holiday of a lifetime. If anyone is going on this trip it would be great to hear from you, or if anyone has already been to America and has any tips for a first timer all comments would be greatly appreciated. 6 months to go and counting 🙂

I am doing this tour leaving on the 16th May, so I shall leave a review on the boards when I come back.

I have been to the USA many times over the years, my tips would be.

Have fun, see and do as much as you can.

The Americans are a relaxed bunch of people so casual dress is the way to go. With room to expand as the meals are LARGE!!

Tipping is a way of life over there so please do tip everywhere any anywhere you go, so budget that into your spending money.

The price you see on a ticket is not the price you have to pay as TAX is added at the check out so don't get caught off guard.

I don't know your age or what your into but I find a I pod or I also have a I pod mini shuffle is great for listening to my music either on the flight or the coach, as sometimes there can be long coach drives.

This is a new tour they have put on this year after the customers on these boards having input on what WE wanted to see in a Florida tour, having been one of the news who commented on the tour content I am really looking forward to going,

Thanks Cindy, some great tips there, especially about the tipping and extra tax on things, also i had forgotten about the large meals, I've heard about that before, a couple of meals a day will probably be enough then. I will be 45 when I go and will love all of it as I have never been there before, will be like a big kid in a sweet shop. It's good that your ideas for places are considered for the JY trips, I like that, Have a great time, really look forward to hearing all about it,

All the Best, Angela.

Hi Margaret, thanks for your message. I'm really looking forward to Florida, of course I will be a little nervous as it's my first time but I'm sure that will soon fade once I've met my fellow travellers. I'm from Essex so not too far from the airport but I was thinking about staying in a hotel near the airport the night before to avoid the traffic in the morning, will have to check the prices and have a think about that. It's nice to have contact with you and will be good to keep in touch with someone on this trip, it will be fabulous. I hope it will be the first of many trips with JY. I will look out for you at the airport when the time comes, look forward to meeting you, all the best Angela.

Hi Angela Rose,

Congratulations on booking your first JY Holiday I am sure you are going to have a fabulous time. I look forward to seeing your review when you come back as I fancy this holiday for next year.

I've always found when travelling to the states, it is worth packing less to make room for all the bargains you buy when your there. The last time I went I had to buy another suitcase to come back with lol

Hi, glad you booked the trip, it was 6 months to go when I booked it, now only 3 and a bit, I need to start planning what to take. I hope this will be my first trip amongst many as I'm sure I will get the JY travel bug, got a way to go to catch up with your 5 trips though. Where else have you been in the USA? I quite fancy route 66, if I go again may think about that one. Look forward to meeting you at the airport, nice to hear from you and thanks for the message, all the best, Angela.

Hi Kezzer, thanks for your message, I will put a review on when I come back, have you seen Cindy Nixons review for her trip there in May? It is a good read and well worth looking at. I'll try not to pack too much but don't hold out much hope on that, just bought a new suitcase and it's quite big so there may still be room for a bargain or 3 😉 Have you been on many trips with JY so far? I'm looking forward to my first and hope to have a great time exploring a bit of the USA. All the Best, Angela

Glad your all looking forward to your trip to Florida.....beware there is NOT that much time for shopping, so if you get the opportunity GO FOR IT!!!...........

Have fun and if there is anything I can help with just ask..

If you like fun,at the beach part of the holiday, there is the chance to go on a speed boat or jet ski, this you have to pay for. Myself and another lady went on the speed boat it was great fun, and fast!! You are Out for about 2 hours.

There is a lady that does massages on the beech, as well I did not do that. And a sealife place next door where many of our group went and I am sure you can swim with dolphins etc there.

Hi Angela,

I've been on the following USA tours with Just You: Route 66; National Parks, Canyons and Little Big Horn; Golden West; Deep South

I've also been to: New England; Colorado; Las Vegas

I can't pick a favourite as they've all been good for different reasons.
