I am on the verge of booking the trip to China with the Yangtse add on but have never travelled on my own before. I am treating myself to this for my 60th birthday. I would really appreciate any advice or comments about this trip as I am slightly apprehensive.

Hi Val,

I am booked on the Inspirational China trip in May when I will be 60 the day we land in Beijing!! I am not doing the Yangtze add-on but am getting excited about the trip. i have been in contact with a few others and i think there may be a few birthdays on the trip. Go on and take the plunge. If you book for May it will be good to meet you!!

Hi

I did this trip in Sept 2010 withou the add

on. It was a great experience and a good way to see modern and ancient China. The tour is well organised and travel between cities went smoothly.

The group were aged between late 30's to early 80s and the majority

were women. This is not unusual on Jy trips.

The group had meals together so I did not have to worry about company.

I am sure you will enjoy this experience

Lesley

Well thats encouraging replies however I have to go in August because I'm a teacher ( the dreaded school holiday syndrome) has anybody else been at that time of year? Is the heat unbearable - I've looked it up to be 80 - 90F but with high humidity ?

I'm thinking of booking the China trip in August (I work in a school also and am restricted to the holiday breaks). I've not decided on the Yangtze add on yet. I was wondering about the weather also but as it's the only time I can go I think I'll do it anyway.
