Hi, I am considering my first holiday without my husband, who doesn't fly. The Just You brochure looks very good, but I am a bit nervous about booking anything without feedback from other ladies who were previously in my situation. Any advice would be gratefully received! Ideally I'd like to go to Italy during the first half of October. Many thanks.

Hi there

I have travelled the world with JY including High lights of Tuscany which I can totally recommend.

Like you I have a husband but he only wants to lay on a lounger, so he is happy for me to do touring with out him, I started travelling in 2006 ( I am now 59) my first tour was New York Boston and New England and I have not looked back, I have been to Kenya, lots of USA tours, Austria, Poland, Hong Kong and New Zealand, France and Belgium War tour, Canada, I think thats them all..

Your totally safe, the ladies out number the men, some people you will gel with others you won’t but hey that’s life, I can get on with most people and it’s only for 7-10-14-22 days I have made some great holiday friends and have travelled with them again on JY tours..I have seen the world, had great laughs along the way, if you have any other questions just ask, I am sure we can answer them.

Hello Flossie,

I went on my first solo trip abroad last October, having lost my husband two years previously. I had a fabulous time in Tuscany, with an exceptional TM, and a wonderful group of fellow passengers of all ages. I thought that the organisation was excellent, and I have had no qualms about booking a second trip - in fact, I am off to California and Arizona with ‘Just You’ in 2 weeks’ time!

I know it can be a bit daunting to take that first step, but you will find support within the group, I am sure. I hope you decide to take the plunge and book. If so, I hope you have a super time!

Hello Flossie,

I have met many men and women travelling without their partners since 2010 when I first started. Most of us are widows/ widowers, does not matter as we are all on this trip to see places that we could only dream about 🙂

Many thanks for that - really helps me feel positive and encouraging. Just the sort of information that I need.

Thanks Sue, your post was very useful. Tuscany really appeals. Hope to book before too long!

Yes, it's great that there are companies out there that cater for us without partners, whatever their circumstances. Thanks for your reply.

Hi Flossie,

Just back from my first holiday without my husband as he too doesn't like flying. Went to New Zealand and Singapore for 3 weeks and it was the best decision I have ever made (ha ha good job he won't be reading this).

I was really nervous but departure day arrived and there was no turning back, thank goodness as I loved every minute of it. Looking forward to booking my next venture. Embrace the nerves and go for it.

Hi Flossie

I have just returned from Highlights of Tuscany 10-17 May and had a wonderful trip with a great group of people and an excellent Tour Manager in Sandra Polidori. I will post a review soon.
