Hi Everyone, just want to say hello. I have been debating for ages to go on a single holiday, bit nervous!! Thought i would try the Bournemouth Discovory weekend but it's in November and I am away that week. Typical.

What are the Discovory weekends like? worth going?

Please let me know how you got on, maybe i can go after christmas.

Thanks Bye:thumbup:

Welcome to you there is a video link on here of myself Cindy and another from Lovelylesley which might help you. I have done 8 JY tours when I started they did not offer discovery weekends so my first tour was Boston New England and New York I had a great time.

Hope you get to try a JY tour asap.

Hi there

I only joined JY a week ago so I know how you feel! Was going to start with a Discovery weekend but decided to jump straight in and went for Costa de la Luz on 25 September. I will see how that goes then fancy either New Year Warwick Castle trip or Paris! Let me know how you get on .

Hi newcarol

I joined JY in 2009 and took my first holiday in 2010, full of nerves just like yourself. Didn't think there was any point in doing a discovery week and just jumped in with a big holiday to New Zealand and Hong Kong. I thought at the time that if it didn't work out, at least I would get to see my favourite country. Now, my whole life revolves around going on single traveller holidays! You have so much fun, meet lots of nice people and see the world too.

So, my suggestion to you is pick a country you really want to visit and just book it.

Hope this helps.

Sylvia

Hello and Welcome

I personally did not do a Discovery weekend, just took the plunge and booked a holiday. I have been on 3 Just You holidays and have a 4th one booked for October. I have heard Discovery weekends are good though. Just You is a good company to travel with and they do take good care of you. There is no need to be nervous at all. Sincerely hope that you will stop feeling nervous and book a holiday. Just pick a destination you always wanted to visit and book it. I can assure you that you will have no regrets at all.

Hi Carol

Today I have just returned from a discovery weekend in Peterborough, it was a lovely weekend and well organised, Every one got on very well with each other, the food was very nice and the hotel was really very nice. I have not as yet been on a holiday with JY but I did go on the New Year at Hinckley last year which was amazing, so hence I will be going on the New Year again. This year it will be at Cheltenham for the 3 nights. Good luck with your choice. Bye for now Annabella

I did 4 week long holidays before going on discovery weekend. For me the weekend was a bit frenetic as you do not have the time to meet people over just 2 days, and it all felt a bit rushed, however I did enjoy it, but if there is a full holiday that takes your fancy just go for it, and remember if people go on these holidays, its because they want to mix and socialise with others, so you are not going to spend time by yourself unless you choose to, and its all down to the personalities on your tour group, so obviously each tour group is made up of different people so each holiday is going to be different, but I've never known anybody left out, it just dosen't happen.
