Hi everyone on the Kenya 6th June trip

Is anyone as worried as me about meeting up at the airport. It does not sound as we will be having any help going through the booking and customs and will only be met at the final destination which I did not realise was the case. I thought the tour guide would be with us the whole time from Heathrow onwards. I would love to meet up with someone outside for support. Any offers?

Also we are meant to take a thick jumper/jacket and walking shoes for the safari part of the trip but as we only have a small bag allowance for that part how is anyone else managing to pack everything that is needed. The second part is easy as we have a suitcase for that. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hi Sue

Try not to panic. I have been on tour before when the rep meets you the other end, it's not that bad. YOU SHOULD have a rep to greet you at the airline desk and see you through so that will be OK. I am sure. Just look out for the JY labels on cases and hand luggage. Or wait at the desk till someone else on the tour gets booked in.

I have done this tour, which I must say is a great tour to do, I am sure you will LOVE seeing the animals. YOU DO NOT (well in my opinion) need walking shoes for the safari part you stay in the jeeps. We got out on one of the drives for a light picnic but still only needed light shoes. I did take a fleece which is lighter on weight allowence than a thick jumper and a light anorak, I needed neither of these I went in October. You don't need that much for the first part of the holiday just light weight layers on and off. NO BRIGHT yellows orange etc as these attract the flies and insects.

Plenty of tissues, wet wipes, hand cleaning gel, and WATER!!!!

Have Fun
