Hi Mick

Last month when I made a payment I was told there are 30 bookings for October already. Can't find anyone on here though apart from yourself.

Not long now.

Hi Paul,

Same here, thought I'd post again see if any response.

Think I'll drive down and get a hotel/park deal the night before, just get best deal I can. Doesn't really matter if hotel near other terminals because transfers are free on the heathrow express.

Well I was down at Heathrow over Easter weekend with my nephew on a plane spotting weekend. We stayed at the new premier inn close to terminal 5 and I'm almost certain to be staying overnight there before our trip. I'm not sure if they do the park and stay deals but there are so many hotels that do.

Look forward to meeting you in October.

I'll just get the best deal I can, get discount through my AA membership, every time i do the hotel/park thing end up somewhere different but I'll check the prem inn.

Will look forward to meeting, if not night before in the lounge prior to the flight.

How are you getting to heathrow ?

I was thinking about driving down. Then thought about the train down. Then I thought I'd be very tired and wanted to get home as quick as possible so opted to fly instead.

I'm easy with which hotel to stay in the night before. Would be nice to meet up with fellow travellers the night before if possible. Pity we can't find anymore going on our trip in this community.

Paul,

I've down two america trips witn JY and usually 3 or 4 online so it a bit unusual there is just the two of us, still we'll meet them all in the lounge.

Prob book my hotel towards end of May and will let you know where, it'll be on the free bus route so there will be a good chance we can arrange a meet up.

Paul,

I've drove twice before after visiting America, often do the train (but not if it involves sundays as there not reliable). The drive can be tiring but plenty of service stations along the M1, usually end up stopping 3 or 4 times.

Another question, Do you like Blues music ?

Reason I do and will be going to one on the nights in Chicago if you want to tag along, don't worry i know the way Chicago is my favorite city ben 9 times, have actually stayed at the Palmer House Hilton once a few years back.

Hi Mick

I like all sorts of music and especially like live music. Normally it doesn't matter what kind of music providing its not something like black sabbath.

I'd love to tag along in Chicago. Maybe we could persuade a few others to come as well. Make a good night of it..

Paul,

That be great, promise you it'll be good, will check around see what acts are on but plenty of places to choose from, many walkable from the hotel (10 to 15 minutes). Be great if we can get a few of us to go, sure we will.

The area around the hotel is quiet on a night more buisness & shopping area but you just have to walk up State street cross the river and its full of restaurants, bars & music clubs.

Some cracking Irish Pubs that serve good food aswell, best eating out the hotel is very expensive.

Hi Mick

Sounds great to me. I don't mind a short walk if it means a good nights entertainment.

What I want to do in America is rather than eat in the hotels every night I want to try lots of different places and I especially want to eat some god old American foods. I presume you will have more chance of them foods by eating out every night.

Irish pubs are always a great night out no matter where you are.

Looks like our tour guide will have some competition from you for the days we are in Chicago.

Welcome to the party Lyn. Mick and myself have posted on here looking for fellow travellers and I'm glad we have found some more.

I'm travelling down from Manchester the day before and will be staying at one of the hotels close to heathrow. Not sure which one yet as Mick is also staying the night before and we might book the same hotel.

Where are you travelling from and who is the other passenger on this trip?

Hi Both

I will be flying down from Manchester Airport with a gentleman named Les. I have 'done' most of America and really love it over there. I'm looking forward to the trip on the Mississippi and visiting Oklahoma and New Mexico. You're right, this is going to be a good trip.

Welcome Lyn and welcome Les.

I've never done America but I'm so looking forward to it. So many things to see and do along the way. So many iconic places we will visit.

Are you up for a night out in Chicago with Mick and myself? Should be a great night out from what Mick has told us.

Look forward to meeting you both.

Kirsty

Kirsty,

There is usually a JY rep there at check in but obviosly they cant go through security with you. When you get through security make your way to the executive lounge (you'll get a pass with your info pack) where you'll meet fellow travellers and probably your tour manager.

It really is easy no need to panic, even if there is no JY rep the airline people are very helpful.

Have a great trip, sounds like you should be on october trip and would enjoy the music clubs with Paul and myself.

Mick
