I am trying to pluck up the courage to book my 1st solo holiday and cannot make up my mind where to go.

I would love the sun, I enjoy walking, scenic views and looking at local architecture and old churches.

Could anyone advise and point me in the right direction please.

Welcome to you I have done 8 JY tours now, have you had a good look through the brochure or online. I went on the Highlights of Tuscany tour and that ticks your boxes, I went in May and it was VERY hot, lovely scenic views to be had, and I to do like a church, and there were many, many old churches, catherals to be seen. Was a nice little tour a week away in the sun and stunning things to see.. So have a look and see what you think..If I can help with anything else just ask..

Hello Silla

How about Sicily? I went in October last year thinking it would be cool - how wrong could I be so hot! Stunning architecture and many churches. Also Mt Etna (and snow) if you like that sort of thing.

Many thanks for your advise Cindy. I have had a look at the highlights of Tuscany and that is where I plan to go. I haven't booked yet but plan to go later in the year. Sylvia

Hello Silla

Welcome to Just You and of course the community.

Just you do a number of trips, However I Can recommend the Black Sea Rivera, Which is an all inclusive beach holiday. In agreat little location and resort. And the sun can be expected. It is also a reasonably priced holiday. Although this is a sun, sea & sand holiday, There is opportunity to visit further a field, Where you can sea the archetecture of churches and buildings. Another trip I can definately recommend is The Austrian Lakes. Although this is not a beach holiday. There is opportunity to catch The sun by the very large lake which is in the hotel garden area. One of the excursions on this trip is a visit into Salzburg, And you will be amazed at the Archetetural structures of buildings and chuches. Both trips are only about a 2 hour flight from Gatwick.

All the best
