Has anyone got any advice on how to pack for Kenya as there needs to be a seperate case for each section of the holiday. Are we allowed 2 cases for the hold or is it better to pack a smaller lightweight case for the safari part inside a larger case? Where is the beach suitcase stored while on safari. I don't want my hand luggage to be my safari case and also I would still have to transfer toiletries. from my main suitcase. Would appreciate any advice.

I think it has changed from when I went when I went it was 2 cases ..1 hard suitcase for 2nd hotel and 1 soft holdall for safari part...

If you can only take the one case I think you will have to pack the soft case inside for safari..you cannot take suitcases on the jeep just soft holdalls.. the other case is stored and transfered to your next hotel for when you get there. I had towo lots of toiletries, small travel size for safari then larger size in main case..My hand luggage was a back pack which did come in handy..

Check to see if it is 1 case with holdall inside, or 1 case + a soft holdall.

You will have a fantastic time I know I did. I did the add on which I really did enjoy.

Thanks for your advice. Another query- I usually take a small case on wheels as my hand luggage. Will this be allowed as well as a holdall. Also are there hairdryers in the rooms at the lodge?

Have you been on the Peru holiday as I am thinking about booking it and have some questions to ask about it?

Hello

No I have not been on the Peru tour.

I have just checked the Ashnil Aruba website and can see no mention of hairdryer. I personally always travel with a travel hairdryer and iron.!!

When I went the case + the holdall went into the cargo hold just my back pack was hand luggage ..small case on wheels is fine for cabin baggage but safari holdall should be in the cargo hold with main suitcase, I would check with the office or your paperwork or put message on the editors board to clarify what baggage allowence you now can have on this tour.

Hi Guys,

Hair dryers are available at the Lodge, you can rent them from reception (listed under guest services), as to weight on the plane I think it is still 22kg (was when I went in September),

Have a great time

Hi Maureen, so pleased you asked this question,I'm going to put holdall in suitcase saves carrying 2 pieces of luggage.

I think I will do the same though still need to know if I can take my wheelie hand luggage to the safari part as well as a holdall.

Have you arranged to meet anyone yet at the airport? I looked at the facilities at Terminal 4 and there is a bar/restaurant called The Bridge that might be OK to meet up in as we do not have the lounge.

Hi,

I went on the Kenya holiday last year. The main case was taken from the airport straight to the hotel in Mombassa where it was securely stored and returned to us on arrival at the hotel later in the holiday. We took our smaller case/holdall with us to the safari lodge. It would be advisable to make sure your safari bag is ready packed and easily accessible as it would be very difficult to swap clothes from bag to bag at the airport. You are in for a real treat. The holiday was fantastic!!

best wishes,

Bridget

I agree with what you say...holdall must be packed with gear as no time to pack a holdall at the airport. Also make sure you have a lock for the case that stays behind to go to 2nd hotel.

Hi Maureen, the Bridge sounds good I'll head there flying from Scotland so will probably be later than others.Hand luggage think I will just take a large shopper but won't really know untill I pack and weigh everything. Mary
