Does anyone know what's the best way to take funds to China? Maybe someone who has done it could advise? How much in local currency (and are there any restrictions on how much you can take in & out)? And one of those plastic travel cards for the rest? Is there any card that's particularly accepted in China (or any that aren't)? That would be for cash and I would use my credit card for anything else. Anyone know whether Mastercard is OK in China? Anyone had any problems?

Any advice anyone can give would be very gratefully received,

With many thanks.

I did this trip last May and really enjoyed it. I took £100 of Yuan and changed sterling when I got there but you need to ensure that notes are in perfect condition, no tears, folds or marks, or they will not take them. There is not a lot of time to find a bank but hotels change money at the same exchange rate. Some took travellers cheques but had difficulty in finding a place to change them. Credit cards are accepted at hotels for extras and at big shops and those selling souvenirs. It is a busy but brilliant trip, enjoy it!! Hope this is of some help, John
