I did the JY 22 days in Australia in October 2011. It was without a doubt a really great experience and holiday with many many highlights. The other 28 people on the group wrere great and our tour manager (Sarah) looked after and organised us very well.

I got cash from ATMs around Austarlia as and when I needed it with no problems - A couple of peoiple on the group tried to get cash using a credit card had a few problems but mine is a Current Bank account card and I withdrew cash several times with no problems at all.

Have fun and enjoy every moment of a really great holiday with too many highlights to list - also enjoy the optional excursions - they really are worth doing.

Usually with the long haul trips you get the use of a VIP lounge to all meet up in before you board the flight. This is where the rep thats travelling with you would normally be and they sort of get the group together, JY do try and get rows of seats together or near the party, look out for JY labels when your booking in.

This is how it has been for me.

Joy, you get access to the Executive lounge at Heathrow so you can meet your fellow travellers, tour manager and get a breakfast bacon sandwich and coffee - a great and relaxing way to start your great adventure.

On our flights, both internal and to Australia and back, our group were all seated together across several rows so you get to chat with various fellow travllers on all flights.

Everyone seemed a bit nervous at Heathrow but from my experience everyone was friendly and certainly chatty once we got to know each other. I sat next to Audrey on the flight out and even though we had never met before, we spent a lot of time chatting and generally getting pretty excited about the next 3 weeks. In fact later in the tour Audrey and I had a helicopter flight over the outback together so everyone is very supportive of nervous first time travellers. The other great thing about the holiday was that there were plenty of opportunities to go out as a group for evening meals or to explore and eat on your own if that's your choice.

Finally I enjoyed so much both the Australia and JY experinece, that a couple of weeks after getting back I booked another JY holiday for 10 days in China on 25th April this year.

Please let me know about your hoilday and I hope it is as memorable for you as it was for me.

Pete .........

PS There were so many highlights it's hard to list them all - sunset and sunrise at Ayers Rock, a helcopter flight over Helen Gorge outside of Alice Springs, climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Scubadoo'ing on the Great Barrier reef. the penguin parade on Philip Island etc. etc etc ........
