After 3 excellent European holidays with the group, I am thinking about a longer one to the States.

Can anyone having done one of these longer trips give me any tips, the one thing that puzzles me as you are constantly on the move how do you manage with laundry etc.

Any help tips etc would be most welcome.

Thanks and a happy new year to everyone.

DONT panic......how long is your trip...( I am going on 22 days to NZ soon and thats the question I keep thinking.)

I have done 3 UA tours.....If you are going for the normal 2 weeks you should be fine without having to do a load of washing the weight allowence should just about see you through. I have before now rinsed a few bits out and got them dry, If not SOME hotels do have washer dryers to turn things around, But who really wants to be bothering with this when your on holiday and the USA tours are full on, if you get stuck just buy a shirt etc while away. I am sure you will be fine, me with 22 days will have to work something out..!!!!!

If I can help you with another question on USA tours ask away.. They are great fun but normally are pretty full on..

I've done two american trips with JY (golden west and parks & canyons) and many on my own.

To be honest I take enough clothes and do my laundry when i get home, baggage allowance depending on airline is usually around 23kg which is ample. Usually take some carrier bags and seal dirty clothes in them inside my suitcase.

Hi Cindy I went to New Zealand 2007, and the hotels had a laundry room that we could use, washing machine, dryer and a sink for hand washing, and irons and ironing boards for a small charge. As most of us had already had two weeks in Australia it was a relief to do some bits of washing. In fact the laundry room became a social meeting point. I hope you enjoy New Zealand I loved it very much

Geoff I went to Golden West 2009 we used to wash through all the hotels had iron and ironing boards in the rooms. So dont panic just enjoy.

Thank you for your reply, I had heard that there will be this facility, it's just fitting it in with the time but us ladies are good at multi tasking.!!! I am really looking forward to seeing all of NZ, and Hong Kong on the way out.
