Hi everyone

It has been work, work, work for me for too long and I would like to enjoy a well deserved relaxing break and meet some new people.

I'm a guy in my thirties and was wondering if this was the right place to get me back in the holiday swing again.

To begin with I was thinking of maybe a short break in the UK - any suggestions or thoughts on your experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Just to add on to my original post, I was wondering what are the discovery weekends were like? Are they a proper mini break or basically just an extended meet and greet session? They seem like a logical place to start - any thoughts on these events would be very welcome.

Depends whether age bothers you as you will likely be the youngest man. From the tours I've done Men tend to age between 40 on 80 while the ladies start younger in their late 20's. The main age range seems to be 50's & 60's but honestly age really doesn't matter everyone seems to ave a good time. Not had a bad holiday yet.

Welcome to you, I hope one of the MEN!! on here reply to this post to give there side of JY tours.

There are always more ladies than MEN on the tours I have been on. I have done 7. At 30 you would be in the younger range main age 55-70 with older and younger. If you can get on with people of all ages you would be fine I am sure. I have not done a UK based tour, I have done 4 long haul and 3 short haul. A nice starter one I would suggest from my tours would be Austrian Lakes. If I can help with anything else just ask away.

Hi,

To be honest I wouldn't limit yourself to a holiday in the UK unless that's what you really want. There are many wonderful destinations, book somewhere you have always wanted to see. I took my first JY trip when I was 41, on that occasion I was the youngest in the group. The following year the age range was about 25-78 years young.

Good Luck,

Janice

Hi again

Many thanks for your responses. Firstly, with regards to age thanks for the flattery Cindy but I'm not 30 (I'm actually 30 plus VAT) but it seems like I might be one of the younger guys who would holiday with Just You. However from reading the posts on here everyone seems nice and friendly and being young and outnumbered by women seems like a recipe for a good holiday to me! Joking aside I watched the video link - it was very informative and helpful. I may reconsider just booking a holiday instead of an introductory weekend - lots of holiday choices though!!

From reading eveyones replies they all seem really friendly and I'm sure you'll make friends easily.

Go for a New Year Break, thats a sort of stop gap between the 2. I have just booked Swindon. Did Antigua in Summer I was terrified but loved it. Go for it take the plunge.
